I spent 3 great weeks in Mai in Hackenau with Alex, Jule, Jon, Martin and Irma. I felt very welcomed and I was free to help with whatever I wanted. I worked in the garden with Jule a lot, helped cooking and cleaning, I also arranged some areas in the garden, sorting some waste, mowing the lawn and I also worked a bit with Martin to build a

Everything I've done there with them was interesting, often different and cool ! They are all super nice people, very comprehensive and calm. The place is beautiful, in the countryside, without any sound of cities.
I highly recommend this workaway, you'll have a great time with all of them, and I hope you can help to make this place even better than it is!

Staying with this five humans was a gift. They have build a space in which one feels home. They also have a wonderful nature all around which adds to the easy going and fun atmosphere that there is in the house. It was an opportunity to learn how to do certain handwork activities like cutting wood (which is very fun!) or how to properly dig a

My stay here was great! I was warmly welcomed by Alex who speaks a very good french. During my stay, I helped Yule setting some shelves in her room and living room and we laught a lot saying that "hopfully" this construction would stand ! I felt like she is an happy-go-lucky person and she is funny. I enjoyed spending time with Irma who is a
… read more nice little girl, very clever and Well educated. Thanks to her, I have learn very well " ich auch" ! I went To Berlin with Alex to sell vegan kebab in his foodtruck which was a very nice experience! Alex is a understanding, calm and Well thought out guy, also he cooks very well.
This family is so easy-going that I felt at home from the very first day. I could ask for everything with any problems, they even let me go to kurstzin with their bike or go to walk with "papillon de nuit", the friendly and active dog. Also they let me paint on the wall of the living room which was very nice to do.
Some nights, we made campfire and stockbrot, sehr lecker! I can only recommand To spend time with this family!
I really hope that you will find nice people To be part of the community and I will be glad to come back To see you again, to see how the place has changed and continue conversations at the campfire :)
Our experience with Coline was wonderful. She is very enthusiastic, independent, creative and funny. She was interested in everything and no matter what kind of task - as soon as she devoted herself to work the results were mesmerizing. During her stay, she did so many different things it is hard to list them. Building (duck shelter, fence, gate),
… read more painting (wall and wall-painting), taking care of ducks, cutting wood, cooking and even working in the food truck. We hope she enjoyed her stay as much as we did. Highly recommended as they both are always cheerful, relaxed, funny and totally willing to help out in different fields. They helped cooking, renovating in and outside of the house and we'll miss both their help and joyful personalities!

When we were contacted by Alex to come and work at his beautiful home, we were beyond excited! The communication between us and Alex was great from the beginning. We didn't have a lot of experience as workaways but we were free to do around the property what we thought we could do and get creative around the place from; gardening, cutting wood, building fences, painting rooms, cooking, babysitting, driveway constructing etc. It was a lot of fun, and once we were in a routine we knew exactly what was expected of us. We spent 3 weeks with Jule and Irma and felt at home! So much praise to Alex and Jule, your place is amazing and we hope that some more workaways come and your place can live out its dream!
