    Our cozy hostel is just a one-hour drive from Stavanger, Norway’s bustling oil city. It’s also the perfect launchpad for other amazing hikes like Kjerag and Flørli — so get your hiking boots ready!

    When you’re not exploring, there’s plenty to keep you busy: canoeing, stand-up paddling (SUP), trampoline fun, slacklining, ziplining, climbing, swimming, fishing, volleyball, basketball, football, and even biking.

    Arbeit

    Paid position : EU citizens who can work full-time June to August. Salary is based on Norwegian hospitality union agreements, and takes into account your professional experience and relevant education. All terms comply with Norwegian labor laws. Details are provided during interviews. Just a quick heads-up — don’t forget to bring your European Health Insurance Card and valid travel insurance to keep your adventures worry-free!

    ✅ Qualifications We’re Looking For – Head of Housekeeping

    🧼 Professional Experience
    Minimum 3-5 years of experience in housekeeping supervision
    Proven track record in hospitality environments (hotels, hostels etc.)
    Experience managing housekeeping operations for both rooms and public areas
    Skilled in hands-on cleaning work combined with leadership responsibilities

    👥 Leadership & Team Management
    Experience leading housekeeping teams, assigning tasks, and managing daily schedules
    Ability to train and onboard new staff (including multilingual teams)
    Comfortable coaching team members to maintain quality and efficiency
    Track record of improving team performance and guest satisfaction

    📋 Operations & Coordination
    Skilled in room inspections and maintaining high cleanliness standards
    Experience coordinating with Front Office and Maintenance to solve issues efficiently
    Familiar with inventory management, supply ordering, and cost control
    Able to handle lost & found procedures, reports, and general housekeeping admin

    🧠 Service & Problem Solving
    Strong focus on guest service excellence and ability to resolve complaints professionally
    Quick to identify operational issues and implement improvements (e.g. reducing turnaround time)

    📈 Technical & Reporting Skills
    Confident with performance monitoring, reporting, and daily documentation
    Able to both give and follow work-related instructions clearly

    🛡️ Health & Safety
    Solid understanding of health, safety, and hygiene protocols
    Ensures staff follow proper procedures and guests feel safe and cared for

    Here, you’re not just working — you’re joining a friendly, fun, and social crew. You’ll stay in shared team dorms with bathrooms, a small staffkitchen, and a laundry room with a washing machine, making it easy to settle in and stay comfortable.
    Our common areas are large and shared with guests, perfect for meeting new people and relaxing after work.

    We include breakfast and dinner, towels and linens, plus pick-up and drop-off at the bus station to make your stay hassle-free. You’ll also have access to free coffee and tea at reception, BBQ facilities, and can join in on social events like movie nights and more.

    Get outside and discover the stunning Norwegian mountains — hike to the world-famous Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen), just a short cardrive away. It’s one of Norway’s top natural attractions and perfect for breathtaking views and unforgettable photos.

    Nearby villages like Tau and Jørpeland offer charming local vibes. Tau is the main transport hub, with ferry connections and buses, making it easy to get around. Jørpeland is a cozy town with cafes, shops, and beautiful fjord views—great for relaxing after a day outdoors.

    For a bigger city experience, hop on the bus to Stavanger. It’s a vibrant city known for its rich history, excellent museums (don’t miss the Petroleum Museum!), lively waterfront in Vågen, street art, buzzing nightlife, and fantastic restaurants. In summer, the city comes alive with outdoor concerts and the famous Gladmat Food Festival, Norway’s largest food event.

    Transport is convenient with regular buses and ferries connecting these places, so whether you want mountain adventures, local charm, or city excitement, you’ve got it all at your fingertips.
