With the covid-19 crisis, I am not sure if and when workawayers could travel up to spend time in Telegraph Creek with me--once here, tho, it'd be an excellent place to "wait out" this medical crisis...So I am open to possibilities, as long as all concerned observe the protocols for self-isolation, etc. I am currently in Victoria, BC, and will have to practice self-isolation myself once I get home--its a beautiful place in which to do it, provided I don't run out of essential supplies! So, stay healthy, everyone, and e-mail if you're still interested...
Looking for help this Spring and summer, planting garden, getting the place in shape-- Spring is THE time to to come up and experience life surging back--saps rising/birds arriving, beautiful blue sky days!
Located 15km beyond beautiful, unique, and historic Telegraph Creek in the Stikine Valley of NW BC, 3 Sisters is a rustic and gorgeous property of 28 acres. It is situated on unceeded Tahltan (First Nations) Territory.
There is an endless variety of things to do in your off-time, including kayaking/canoeing the Stikine River or nearby lakes; hiking/climbing Glenora Mt. (I live at the base of it) or any number of trails in the area; fishing for salmon in season, trout all year; boating--I've got the boat--sight-seeing/photography, the list goes on.
I'm seeking help as follows: carpentry work in and out of my log house (with frame addition); minor fencing work; help tearing down our original house (across the creek); finish the fish-house; help install my wood-stove-connected hot water system; help maintain--and EAT--the large and productive garden; I could go on, but there is always PLENTY to do in such a lifestyle.
Skill sets that would be useful; carpentry/building; plumbing; general maintenance/repair; gardening/landscaping; fencing.
There is a guest room; a couple may prefer to camp, or stay in a wall tent--there are several beautiful camping spots on the property--my house has running cold water, 2 bathrooms, but no toilet--outhouse instead--regular phone service but no internet (but available nearby).
I head south to Victoria around Xmas, and return in April, usually. Spring is distractingly gorgeous, as birds return and life surges back into full leaf! July/August is best for eating garden and the local Chinook and sockeye salmon.
I am willing to drive out to Dease Lk., and escort/guide you from there into Telegraph Creek, as the road can be scarey for 1st-timers.

Travelers would get a hands-on experience helping operate an off-grid rural home in a beautiful mountain setting.

I also have a camper near my creek that would nicely accomodate 1 or 2 people.
as outline above. My cell no. only works "down south", not in TC--

Any-sized rv would go nicely beside my creek, a lovely shaded spot, a nice distance form my house, but not too far... Big rv's may not want to travel the TC road, research it first!
I have a spayed female--terribly friendly-- so any visiting dog that is compatible with Nora works for me. I like dogs to stay out of my substantial garden area, and not chase bears (barking at them is great!) Not too excited about cats, as I'm a bird enthusiast, and cats are hard on birds--
