ich habe circa zwei Wochen bei Lorrain gelebt. Lorrain ist sehr freundlich und offen. Er hat mir sehr viele Freiräume gelassen und mir Vertrauen und Respekt entgegen gebracht. … read more permaculture, we spent a morning out in the garden, learning about plants, methods and about Lorrain's project. The place is in a beautiful location; peaceful, great sunsets, remote with abundant nature. Lorrain's dog, Max, is his constant companion, and a very sweet and affectionate dog to be around. His cat, Teresa, is a beautiful cuddley cat.

It was ok for him to help with wide range of tasks from walnuts picking, cooking, weeding, planting, gardening, or construction tasks, even with bad weather! Some positive vibes I definitely recommend, and wish to meet again, here or somewhere else when I'll be traveling maybe !

I had a fantastic stay at Lorraine's beautiful Permaculture farm in Central Spain. I stayed for 2.5 weeks in Oct. Nov. 2023. Lorraine had a big land, with many old houses he is reconstructing, overlooking a beautiful view. He also has a very cute dog (Max), cat (Teresa) and a few chickens, whom we enjoyed eggs from.

… read more lot of walnut picking (collected 83 kg of walnuts!!), and later on I worked a lot in the huge garden - taking out weed, planting, transplanting, fixing up the gate of the fence, and also removing the outer shell of big wood logs. The work was diverse, interesting and well communicated.
In the evenings we would light up the wood furnace inside the house to keep warm, and a few times I made music with Lorraine, was a true pleasure creating music together, Lorraine is also a fantastic musician!
Overall, I highly recommend Lorraine's farm for anyone who wants to volunteer and enjoy beautiful nature, and fresh vegetables, fruit and good food. Lorraine has become a friend, and I hope to keep in touch :)Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

… read more you want to build with local materials. The work we did will help us with our own projects. The routine is flexible and the three of us agreed on hours and duration at the beginning of our stay. We shared the cooking and washing. Lorrain does not have all the answers as there are so many things to do and it is great that we were able to discuss methods between us and try different approaches. This way we learned a lot from each other.
The surrounding area is beautiful and you must try to explore the the region. We were lucky that Lorrain didn't need the car at the weekend and allowed to to take it and explore the beautiful towns and mountains nearby.
