Come to Queensland!!!
Spend some time with an average Aussie family & help us around our humble home. Our gardens would benefit from another set of hands and positive energy. We enjoy meeting new people and making new friends but also enjoy quiet times to ourselves. We invite you to perform some basic duties around the home & garden a few days a week and explore our beautiful region in your spare time, or simply relax in our quiet countryside home.
We ask our Workawayers to assist us with any projects or tasks they are confident or interested in "Having a Crack" at and in return for around 4 -6 hours a day (4-5 days a week), we welcome you to stay in our small but comfortable granny flat (seperate from the main house) with private bathroom and kitchenette. You are invited to share evening meals with us and we will provide you some staples to enjoy breakfast and lunch in your own space. We encourage you to spend time exploring the local region and we will do our best to show you as much of our local area as we can.
Please take note that we live out of town and you will need your own vehicle, or catch rides with us when we are going into town as there is no public transport. We can arrange for bicycles if you are keen to ride into town - approximately 50 minutes cycling.Arten von Hilfe und Lernmöglichkeiten

We live in a beautiful part of Queensland with a spectacular natural landscape and environment to explore. We live a quintessential Australian lifestyle with a laid back approach to things. We have strong family values and community ethics but are personally not religious. We are accepting of others and believe that there is good in everyone. This being said, we will not tolerate violence and invite people who bring only good intentions to this experience.
For some, our way of life may seem extremely relaxed and undisciplined but we hope that it will show you an alternative way of living.Projekte mit Kindern
Dieses Projekt schließt möglicherweise den Umgang mit Kindern ein. Mehr Informationen findest du in unseren Verhaltensregeln und Tipps hier.
Arbeit
Depending on the skills and passions of our Workaway guests we will be looking at various garden projects such as building vegetable gardens, weeding, planting, pruning and such things. We are also planning on building a large chicken coop which is going to require some heavy lifting and physical activity along with some design.
For those who have an artistic flair, we will encourage you to help us create some unique spaces throughout our garden and around our home.
Overall, we hope to provide an opportunity to work alongside you and create spaces that will carry your footprint in our hearts and memories long after your departure. This will be a casual arrangement with minimal working hours and a great deal of opportunity to explore our region and have your own adventures.
Some help that we are considering for our Workawayers to assist with are...
- installing rain water tanks
- painting (internal/external & small items)
- household domestic cleaning
- domestic duties such as hanging and folding washing, sweeping/mopping/dusting
- knocking down an old chicken house
- assist with putting together flat pack and modular furniture
- assisting with design and build of new chicken house
- cleaning and repainting a concrete pool
- preparing vegetable gardens
- planting trees
- assisting with tidying and organising large shed
- removal of garden waste and other garbage
- harvesting fruits/vegetables
- planting seedlings
- watering & fertilising plants
- design and refreshing old gardens
- design and installation of pond and gardens
- mulching and pruning
- assisting with creative design for our fire pit area upgradeSprachen

We hope that you will love our region as much as we do!
Enjoy free time exploring local beaches and rainforests. Spend time shopping or taking lunch with new friends. Join local community groups, participate in yoga, cycling or running amongst other activities or simply take in the serenity of our area and be inspired to journal or write for fiction. We are located only 2 hours from Airlie Beach and many other Whitsunday destinations so there is a great deal to tick off your bucket list.Etwas mehr Information
