  We are a friendly and fun family of 5 based in North Northumberland, very close to the English / Scottish border with excellent transport links, so perfect for exploring both North and South of the UK.
  
  The children are 12, 10, 7 and 5 years of age. One girl and three boys. The children are all at school for most of the day so we primarily need help after school and into the evening. All the children are very busy with their sporting activities and so I need an extra pair of hands to ‘divide and conquer’!
  
  We have one dog and two cats, all very friendly and are looking for someone fun and responsible to help with childcare logistics and general help in managing a busy family life!

  We live in a beautiful place which is rural, however we are well-connected with a train station 15 minutes from the house. You can take the train direct to Edinburgh in 45 minutes and the same in the opposite direction to Newcastle upon Tyne. There are direct trains to get you to London in 3.5 hours. We live close to the coast so there are many, many beaches to explore and an endless supply of walks locally, on the coast or in the Cheviot Hills.

  Arbeit

  We are looking for someone responsible, friendly and fun who has some experience in looking after children. Primarily we need some help with managing the kids various extra-curricular activities and looking after the younger children whilst I am out with the older children. All the children attend a lovely school in Berwick upon Tweed and so are gone for most of the day, allowing you to have downtime to explore or relax.
  
  A typical evening would either be taking one or two of the children to one of their sports clubs whilst I take the others or staying home with the younger two children whilst I am out with the older two. You would perhaps help with homework, reading, giving dinner, getting them ready for bed and the usual activities involved with a young family. That said, you would have ample time off and plenty of evenings and days free to explore.
  
  We might also ask you to help out with preparing some basic food or nipping to the shop and would ask that you muck in with normal household tasks that you would do in your own home, such as loading the dishwasher , doing the washing up or putting a load of laundry on. We would also ask that you tidy up after yourself and do your own laundry.

  Unterkunft

  We live in a farmhouse and you would have your own room on the ground floor, although you would share a bathroom with the children. There is a large garden with a sizeable vegetable patch that is in dire need of care, if that is of interest to you! There are lots of lovely, peaceful walks on the doorstep and a pretty waterfall a short walk away. Our local village is Lowick which is a very quaint village with a well-stocked village shop, two pubs / restaurants, a play park and village green.
  
  There are four hungry children so the fridge and cupboards are always well-stocked and you are welcome to eat what we eat or we can accommodate your requirements.

  As mentioned, although Lowick is a rural location, we are well-connected with train lines so you can get your culture and city fix regularly alongside enjoying all the wonderful coastal and countryside scenery here in Northumberland.
  
  We require someone with a driving license and will provide a car for you to use during your stay.
