  We are a registered UK charity working in the city of Peterborough with an aim to improve our local community's wellbeing and mental health by providing them with different wellbeing sessions for free, such as therapy sessions, yoga, english, creative, sewing classes etc.
  
  We are Latvian by nationality but we love working together with other communities - organising and partaking in different mix culture events and our activities are not limited to only Latvians but they benefit the whole community.
  
  We run our charity from a shared office where there are other communities working too - Lithuanian, Romanian, Bengali and others.

  There are many activities being run every month that the traveller could attend and be a part of - get immersed in the Latvian community as well as meet representatives from many others. We love coming together and sharing different culture cuisine, admire a variety of national outfits and listen to some traditional sounds! The city of Peterborough is a diverse and vibrant small city that's known for it's beautiful Cathedral, plenty of green spaces and beautiful suburban surrounding villages.

  Arbeit

  We have been an established charity for over 2 year now, but have actively worked in the community for over 10 years in total. We are in a growth stage of our existence and we'd love some people to join us in sharing their knowledge, experience, curiosity and expertise in the charity sector. You might have worked in the sector for many years or just have started to get interested on what goes into running a charity - we'd love to hear from you! It would be useful for us for someone to look through and develop our existing policies and strategies.
  
  Another priority of ours is finding help with social media marketing and IT skills to enhance our online presence and raise more awareness of the projects we're running. We already have our own website and Facebook page.
  
  Of course, a huge part of our work involves bid writing and fundraising strategies. We are keen to grow even more and reach more people, so if you're particularly keen in this area, we'd love for you to join us!
  
  There are always some admin work to be done in the office - be it sorting through paperwork and helping with reports and other computer based work

  Unterkunft

  You'll be staying with Iveta - CEO's of the charity place. Iveta lives with her 12 year old son, but you will have your own room, a shared bathroom and unlimited access to the kitchen. If you want breakfast and dinners can be enjoyed together in a traditional Latvian spirit (or share your own recipes!). Lunch is on your own, but we have plenty of recommendations!

  Was noch ...

  There are many activities taking place in Peterborough that you could enjoy - from mini golf to kundalini yoga classes! We have a beautiful city centre with lovely architecture and we're not very far from Cambridge - less than an hour away via public transport and a historic medieval Stamford (which was the filming ground for Pride and Prejudice) is only 30min away. London is close too! 1h on a train and you can be there already.
