Greetings,
We are a Guesthouse, directly on the beach in Santa Marianita, 20 minutes south of Manta, with a lot of happy cats and dogs.
Santa Marianita beach is long, sandy and safe to walk day or night at your own discretion. This is not a party beach and is known for its kitesurfing.
We are seeking mature, low-drama travellers, with good morals and drug-free volunteers who love animals, will help caretaking and maintain them, are ready to work with a smile and have fun meeting people from all over the world.
We do appreciate our wonderful volunteers dressing appropriately as we are a guesthouse, not a hostel.
Our volunteer rooms are usually shared with a maximum of 2 people and each room has its own bathroom including hot water. The kitchen is shared and fully equipped. We also provide a laundry service for our volunteers. There is wifi throughout the property.
Sometimes we cook together, and sometimes friends of the community share food with us, otherwise, you mostly cook for yourself.
The shifts are 5 hours a day, either from 7 am to 12 pm or 12 pm to 5 pm, 5 days per week with two days each week off to explore and enjoy this wonderful area in Ecuador. Our minimum stay is two weeks.

Being a small guesthouse and like a community center, we have visitors from all over and because we are in a small active fishing village you will have endless opportunities to mingle and help the locals if you so desire. The choice is yours. In addition we have 3 professional kite schools for anyone interested in learning kite surfing.

- Preparing the Apartments for upcoming Guests or Volunteers

- Gardening
- Caring for cats and dogs
- Helping with light maintenance

- Volunteer rooms are usually shared with a maximum of 2 people and each room has its own bathroom including hot water. As well as bed sheets, we provide towels and toilet paper.

- Basics for the kitchen (salt, pepper, cooking oil)

My experience was excellent with both Ivana and Sasa. Sometimes when you have a couple, one of Them is a good volunteer while the other is not. Not this case. I wouldn't know how to start to describe how much I liked this place. I stayed for 1,5 months and enjoyed every minute of it. The work you have to do is quite easy and fun and after your shift you have time to spend at the beach, with the dogs& cats or relajado in one of the hammocks. This is a lovely spot in the town of Santa Marianita. I stayed here for a month but could of easily stayed for longer. The breakfast is next to none and the family evening meals provide you with foods from all over the world. I met some amazing people here who I wont forget and would recommend this place to anyone. I had an amazing stay in Santa Marianita! I was only going to stay for two weeks but I ended up extending to stay almost a month. I worked with a great group of people and everyone was incredibly helpful with anything I needed. I spent 3 weeks here (and would have stayed longer if it wasn't for my visa) and loved it, very peaceful location right on the beach, stunning sunsets, simple work and friendly people. Had a lot of fun getting messy with paints and decorating the place with some fish...will definitely be back to visit in the future. Thanks for a great time!
