We are a family of 2. My husband Thomas (37) and me (31). We don’t have children yet. I’m a Workawayer myself and I gained some amazing experiences as a Workawayer. I can only travel once a year but because I love cultural exchange I had an idea to host a Workawayer in my home.
I would love to share the Workaway experience with my husband as well. So, he can get a feeling for the Workaway-idea itself.
We live in Brandenburg in a very pleasant green village called Schulzendorf. Our Village is quite well connected to the German capital Berlin. Schulzendorf is surrounded by more small villages/towns and lots of lakes and forests where you can swim or take a boat ride.
So, the volunteer who comes has the possibility to enjoy the nature around or go to Berlin which takes around 45 min. by train (to the city center).
To me it would be great to host a person from Spain who could help me with my Spanish and teach me some new words. Currently I’m learning Spanish and I would love to get the chance to practice more. When I travel as a volunteer I always go to beautiful Spain.
But anyways everyone is welcome if he or she can speak at least English :-). The person who comes should be talkative, open, friendly and sociable. We are looking for a volunteer who could support us to finish some things in and around our new house. Recently we moved in and still have plenty of work to do. We need some help especially with the garden, the carport and the terrace and with some small tasks to keep the house tidy during the everyday life rhythm. I would be happy to have a creative person at home with some good ideas for the further arrangements outside and inside the house.
We also thought about the possibility that the Workawayer would here and there support some other members of my family who live very close.
We love to go for hiking and meet our friends. Thomas likes to play volleyball and watch snooker. I’m going for different sport activities 3 times a week, like listen to music (all kinds but preferred rock, Indi and pop) and I loooove to cook. I’m quite artistic and I like to take pictures with my camera.
In the evenings and weekends, you will be free to do whatever you want or to join us in our activities and gatherings with family and friends.
Volunteers could learn or practice the German language, learn about the German culture, explore Berlin and Brandenburg and join our activities.
