Vom Workawayer (James & Erin) für Host
We stayed with Marieke for our first Workaway experience ever, and it was amazing. So much so, I’ve decided to do many more next year. I even recently came back for a another (month-long) stay.
We felt welcomed and appreciated by Marieke. She created an organised yet wonderfully relaxed environment, fostering a low-pressure, low-stress atmosphere
… read more that made it easy to settle in. The tasks/ free-time balance was awesome - we had plenty of time for ourselves, which made the whole experience feel incredibly freeing and peaceful.
Marieke is just cool—so easy to talk to and genuinely interesting. She has this youthful spirit, and we had some crack up (funny) moments together . I felt like the work I did for her was genuinely appreciated. I also had a bit of a habit of leaving doors open and letting the cats wander where they shouldn’t, but she was super patient and kind in talking to me about it.
I really enjoyed all the meals she made for us; they were healthy and yum! She also OFTEN spoiled us with treats like ice cream, which was awesome.
Marieke tailored the tasks around the house to match our interests and strengths. She has a knack for making sure you’re doing work that you actually enjoy, which was cool.
One part of our stay that became especially meaningful was spending time with her children, Jetta and Anu. Although it wasn’t part of our original duties, Erin and I were naturally drawn to them. Anu, her older son, needs a bit of extra attention. But I found so much fulfilment and fun being with him and helping him; taking him on walks, playing instruments, playing music, and dancing with him. It was such a cool experience just getting to hang with him and help him - I feel as if helped me discover something new about myself.
We stayed in our own cozy tiny house just a few meters from the main house. The shower in the main house always had hot water with great pressure, and there was always plenty of food available.
I loved my time there so much that I returned for a second, longer stay—and I want to try visit again when I can in the future. I feel like I’ve made friends for life, and the time I spent there was not only relaxing and fun but fulfilling.Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

I had a very pleasant stay here at Riekes and Anders Home. They are really open minded and love to share things with you that can help you on your way. The acommodation was great, private room, working times - except of weekends - were very flexible. As long as one accomplished his or her working hours. Really a great attitude. I've been there
… read more through November, so my tasks were mainly focussed around preparing the place for winter time. Lot of wood works, which I enjoyed, doing these outdoors, while nature was sending its final Autumn Greetings through the trees.
Since everyone had their jobs and also meals at work, food preparation was left to the Work and Travellers who could help themselves with everything that's been in the kitchen and food storage. Sometimes, also common dinner or other meals together. But it was very self sufficient most of the times, which is fine. The area is great for nature lovers. The place being located in a valley surrounded by foresty mountains or hills, there are plenty ways to walk and hike, also with marked and named routes to take. The next possible place to buy stuff was 2 villages further, and you can take a bike, even an E-one for that cause, or simply ask the two if they can bring you something on their next shopping. I had interesting conversations with Anders and Marieke, and with Lynn. Good, open minded people. What else?
Well, what brought me there in the first place? The title of their place description at this site. And it's been exactly that way. There, I could really finally feel like arriving and finding some peace, coming to rest. And I could recharge in nature. Ah, they do also have 3 lovely cats that I do still miss. There's probably more to share, but this sums it up pretty well already, I think.
To me, it was like being at the right place at the right time back then.
Thank you again for having me, and Greetings to Enno, Jette, Lynn and MontraDu kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

Lex is as qualified and honest as her WorkAway profile portrays. Lex can be a strong leader and independent worker, although their quietness and gentle joy may make it easy for some busy or louder people to recognize this at first opinion. Lex has had great diversity in life experience, living in several cultures and schools away from home since a young adolescent age, and we found them to be more adept at human relating and cooperative living than most adults are suited for. We recommend Lex for any WorkAway or job experience that respects and honors their honesty, intelligence, Awareness, connection to Nature, love for art and expression, thought and good being. We hope Lex will stay in touch with us, and also continue to spread their peaceful joy around the world!

For Workaway's, this place is just great, but you should be more confident and independent with things which you do. Marieke and Anders are busy and they just can't look after yourself when you do something and telling you how to do.
Marieke and Anders, thanks for all. Look after yourself and I looking forward to meet you again! 👍😊Vom Host für Workawayer (Tomas)
Tomas is a professional in his WorkAway hours and a quality human in his community socializing and living. He is kind, thoughtful, calm, fun, communicative, clear, peaceful, and loves to share in quality human interactions. While I am usually a Workaway Host, I experienced WorkAway with Tomas in another host's setting where we were living and

He smiles, works hard and skillfully, is an independent thinker and doer, but probably thrives best in a work hard, play some happy community harmonious environment. His memories and comments about other WorkAway experiences show that what he writes is true: he is able to offer professional work and quality camaraderie, with only hopes of having quality human exchanges along the way. He is Pure. In my opinion, Hosts should consider that Tomas does not work like a WorkAwayer, but like a qualified skilled professional giving much more hour for hour. I hope most Hosts will consider paying Tomas an honest wage for his professional work in supplement to the housing and food ration usually granted for much less work in exchange. He is really a travelling plumber and renovator, and should be compensated more than just food in bed in exchange for such high quality contribution. Aside from that, Tomas is a mature and respectful, kind and sensitive human looking for group social experiences. I can't imagine him ever being a less than delightful Work Away experience for any host. You will be fortunate to have him if he chooses your venue.

We had our first workaway stay at Marieke's and Anders' and were welcomed really nicely by the whole family. We stayed for about 3 weeks with them and could be helpful with lots of different things and gain some experience ourselves. Most of the time we spent together in the garden, doing some weeding, planting, lawn-mowing, cutting rose bushes, building natural-stone-walls and a wooden gate for the vegetable garden and we eliminated heaps of stinging nettles. Moreover, we could be creative in the little workshop in the barn.Although we didn't have much experience with kids, we got along with Enno and Jette pretty well.In our freetime we did lots of baking and playing billard.Marieke and Andreas showed us some hiking trails and attractoins around the area and we were able to borrow e-bikes and a canoe. We had a great time spent with the family and are looking forward to visit again.
Marcel und Mareike waren knapp drei Wochen bei uns und haben uns in vielen Bereichen sehr unterstützt! Ihre Talente sind wirklich vielseitig, die beiden aber stets bescheiden. Those two stayed with us for about three weeks in which they were a big support to us. Their talents are various though they are always modest about it. They would work outside in pouring rain and bake yummy bread despite missing yeast. They finished all their jobs responsible and independently without ever making a fuss about it. As if it were nothing the spoiled us with freshly baked treats at the end of the day.
