  Hello! My name is Giovanni and I am a 68 year old man living in scorrano, lecce. lecce is located in bari, which is the capital of the region of apulia/apuglia Italy. My days consist visiting my two wonderful grandchildren (ettore and eva luna) and working in my large garden.
  
  I grew up in Salento, so i know this region like the back of my hand and I am more than willing to open up my house and home to you if you maintain a genuine interest in salentinan lifestyle, culture and/or the Italian language.

  Travellers can "Live like locals" and experience day to day life alongside us in this stunning region, bordering the adriatic and ionian sea. Learn about traditional salentinan dishes (like rusticos, pastisciutta and frisella with arugula), italian language, and get to know not only local art, but world art, as we have travelled many places and love to share that too!

  Arbeit

  The kind of assistance I am looking for is help in the garden, occasionally babysitting for my 14 month old grandson (you will never be left alone for more than an hour,) help in the house (such as with dishes and a daily vacumn of the main living space) and just general house maintenance. I am almost always around to help guide you and work alongside you. The main reason I would like to participate in workaway is to better my English or French skills. I know a bit of English and French, so any workawayers that can speak those are preferred!

  Unterkunft

  -A private room with a twin bed and private exit in our home in scorrano (a town located about 33 kilometers from lecce and 18 km from otranto) We live in a two story villa where me and my 31 year old son (pierangelo) live on the first story and on the second, live my other son (Fulvio, 35), his wife (Monica) and their children (Ettore- 3 year old and Ennio- 1year old))
  -daily meals with me made of fresh ingredients grown all around here. We have arguably the best food in the world! And I have been told I am not such a bad cook myself!
  - we live with two large dogs (tibet and taiga)

  Was noch ...

  there is SO MUCH to do here! from spending days at different beaches and seas to bicycling the countryside, to festivals in nearby towns (almost everyday in the summer!), there is never a dull moment here in salento. I invite you to write to me if you think we would be a good match, don't be shy!
