Hello!
We are a friendly Italian family living in the lively heart of Catania, Sicily. We’re looking for a Workawayer with experience in teaching English to both children and adults who can help us improve our language skills in a fun, natural way through daily interaction and shared activities.
👨👩👦👦 About us
We are a family of four: myself, my husband (who works during the day and comes home in the late afternoon), and our two children:
Mattia (10 years old) – He already has a good level of English, is curious, and loves engaging activities.
Andrea (7 years old) – He has a good base for his age but is a bit more shy, so it takes the right approach to get him involved.
They both have school and sports commitments, so we’d love to integrate English learning through games, conversations, books, and fun activities at home. They love videogames,and Lego , but if the connection is good, they’re happy to join in on other kinds of play too.
And then there's me, who has a basic English background 😐😅but would definitely like to speak and understand it well .😎🇬🇧👩🏻🏫
So I would like to dedicate an hour in the morning to structure a study plan and language practice 💪🏻

🧑🏫 What we’re looking for
Someone with experience teaching English, especially to children (and ideally also to adults).
Someone creative and playful to engage the kids in the afternoons, depending on their schedule.
Around 1 hour per day in the morning (while the kids are at school) to help me follow a consistent and structured learning plan — I’m truly committed to learning English!
A little occasional help at home: watering plants, walking our small dogs, or giving a hand when needed.
Our main goal is to speak more and more English at home, in a natural and relaxed way.
We are open to hosting someone starting from for at least 2–3 weeks, with the option to stay longer if it’s a good match.

Unterkunft
Volunteer position We offer food and accommodation in exchange for a few hours of English language teaching per day
Free accommodation in our family apartment in the city center.
Meals included – we love eating together, although I may not always be able to cook lunch due to other commitments. You’ll always have full access to the kitchen and pantry to prepare something for yourself when needed.
My fridge will be stocked with lots of things: pasta, meat, fish, and vegetables. You can use the kitchen (and fridge) however you like. Or we could cook together!
Weekends free and plenty of free time during the day.
The Workawayer's room is very large ... has beautiful frescoes on the very high ceilings ... Two private balconies matrimonial beds ,free WiFi connection, desk.

We live in downtown Catania, surrounded by shops, Historic fruit and vegetable market,restaurants, bookstores, and cafés.
The area is well connected by metro and train, perfect for exploring Syracuse, Taormina, Mount Etna, and many other beautiful spots in Sicily.
The sea is not just outside our door, but it's easily reachable by public transport.
