  Welcome to León, Nicaragua’s Historical and Cultural Capital.
  
  We are a hostel located in León, a vibrant colonial city full of history, art, volcanoes, and student life. León is known for its beautiful churches, museums, nightlife, nearby volcano boarding, and its authentic Nicaraguan culture.
  
  This is not just a volunteer position — it’s an experience. You’ll be joining a local Nicaraguan project where we run a hostel and swimming pool. Every day is different, and you’ll be part of the daily life of a small hospitality business, learning how a hostel operates from the inside.
  
  You’ll live and work alongside locals, experience real Nicaraguan culture beyond the tourist path, practice your Spanish daily, meet travelers from all over the world, and become part of our small community here at El Río.
  
  During your free time, León has a lot to offer. You can visit the famous Cathedral of León, explore museums and art galleries, try local street food, and experience the city’s nightlife and live music scene. For adventure lovers, you can go volcano boarding on Cerro Negro, hike nearby volcanoes like Telica or San Cristóbal, or visit the beaches of Las Peñitas and Poneloya just 25 minutes away.
  
  Throughout the week, there are many activities in León such as live music nights, cultural events, language exchanges, local markets, and community activities. León is a very social city, so it’s easy to meet people and make friends quickly.
  
  More than just volunteering, this will be an experience to learn, meet people from all over the world, practice Spanish, and experience the real life of Nicaragua while living in one of the most interesting cities in Central America.

  Travellers who stay with us will experience real daily life in Nicaragua, not just the tourist side. They will live and work alongside local people, practice Spanish every day, learn about Nicaraguan culture, food, music, traditions, and the way people live here.
  
  They will also learn how a small hostel operates from the inside — including reception, guest experience, hostel organization, social activities, and general hospitality work. This is a great experience for anyone interested in tourism, hospitality, marketing, social media, or running a small business in the future.
  
  León is a very cultural and social city, so travellers will have the opportunity to meet local people, other travellers, artists, and students. There are often cultural events, live music, local markets, and language exchanges in the city.
  
  Volunteers can also share their own culture, food, music, language, and ideas with us and the guests. We really enjoy cultural exchange, conversations, and learning from people from different countries.
  
  For us, this is not just about work exchange — it is about meeting people, sharing experiences, learning from each other, and creating a friendly international environment in the hostel.

  Arbeit

  We are looking for friendly, open-minded, and motivated volunteers who would like to be part of the daily life of our hostel. The help is not difficult, and we work as a team in a relaxed and friendly environment.
  
  Volunteers usually help a few hours per day in different areas such as general cleaning, helping at reception, managing or creating content for social media, helping with small art or decoration projects around the hostel, and sometimes organizing activities for guests like movie nights, games, or social events.
  
  The idea is not only that you help us, but that you become part of the place. Many volunteers like to paint murals, help with decoration, create new ideas for events, improve the atmosphere of the hostel, or help us with marketing and online content.
  
  We always try to adapt the tasks to your skills. If you like art, you can help with art projects. If you like photography or social media, you can help us create content. If you like meeting people, reception and guest activities are perfect for you.
  
  We want this to feel more like a cultural exchange and life experience than just work. We work together, we share ideas, we meet travelers, and we create a nice social environment for everyone.
