Bivi & Fernando arrived the 24th of january 2022 and stayed with us until the 24th of april 2022. Bivi was our workawayer whereas Fernando continued his regular job for an American company, from a distance (digital nomad). He payed during his whole stay for food and energy consumption.
They are two wonderful persons.
… read more Easygoing, honest, very reliable and mature (the are a bit older than our other workawayers), dutiful, complaisant, with a great sense of responsability, intelligent and very sweet. Bivi helped us a lot in the garden and the house (painting, cleaning etc.) and wherever we needed a helping hand. She ’s an exceptional good and enthousiast cleaner. She’s autonomic and handy. Fernando, he as well, was always willing to give us a hand in his free time. Both of them are great animal lovers. They were very gentle and sweet to our dog Marta and our cat Minnie. They often took Marta for a walk and played with her in the garden. Marta was fond of them. They looked after them with great dedication and love whenever needed. They cooked lovely vegetarian and vegan meals, fusing the Colombian and Spanish cuisine. We’ve spent four wonderful months together, chatting away, laughing and exchanging life experiences. Bivi took some vegan-cookinglessons online and tried-out new recipes wich we were privileged to taste. She’s a passionate and very good cook. They both are very interested in the French culture and curious and willing to learn new things, including the French language. We showed them around in the region where we live in Normandy and went on nice trips together. Sharing our life with them was so easy and natural.
We really recommend Bivi & Fernando. It was hard to let them go. But we are so lucky they choose to come to our place and are infinitely grateful for their help and friendship.

… read more Belgium for a few days and she stayed alone to take care of our dog Marta and cat Minnie. She did this with great dedication and knowledge.
She has a great sense of responsibility and duty. She easily adapted to her new home, the change of culture and customs. She has helped us with many things. She is physically very strong. Helped a lot in the garden (planting flowers, raking leaves, weeding) and lugged heavy wheelbarrows full of compost earth. She also helped with painting, prepared delicious meals, mended clothes (she is fantastic at sewing and makes beautiful works of art out of wool). She has many talents and yet is so humble. W e discovered that she is a real dog whisperer and an animal whisperer by extension. She helped us with the further education of our dog (who can still be very rambunctious), gave many useful tips and often played with Marta. Marta adored Emily from the start and even our timid cat quickly lost her suspicion and allowed herself to be petted. We went on many walks and trips together. Emily was open to anything and grateful for every little gift and every initiative. French culture in general and Normandy life in particular, the typical architecture, the lovely landscapes, the nice, friendly people here in the village and the delicious Normandy cuisine seemed to charm her from the start. She really started to feel at home here and left us with that feeling. It was such a pleasure to have her around. She is so sweet and gentle. We are very grateful to have met her and would love to see her again. We were also lucky to meet her boyfriend Eric, who joined her from Canada towards the end of her stay. … read more every situation, they involved us in each activity they would do and make us feel part of it, some of them were spectacular in which Agnes performed, meals out, one day trip to the seaside and other beautiful activities that made us live the authentic life in their area. We enjoyed beautiful dinners all together chatting in the garden and discussing about any kind of topic: they're open minded and always willing and happy to listen to your opinions and ideas. They also were perfect host when it comes to the work we had to do, they always explained us everything accurately and made sure we were comfortable in every task they would ask us to get done. We really enjoyed and loved everything we did: taking care of the dog Marta and the cat Minnie while Lieven and Agnes were on holidays, help in the garden and in the guest house, painting the gate, cooking and trying new recipes that we then shared together. The place is amazing: it's quite and peaceful and you are deeply in touch with the nature and its rhythm, the landscape are breathtaking and we loved every part of this Normandie area.

Now speaking from the heart, it was a great surprise to meet two incredible human beings, we did not miss Brazil because we felt at home.
Lieven was like a father, always attentive, very funny and friendly, he taught us gardening, painting and maintenance. He introduced us to delicious Belgian beers (with and without alcohol) and was always wonderful company on our trips to Vimoutiers.
Agnes is an incredible woman, besides enchanting us with so much affection and good conversations, she almost made us cry of emotion with her voice. She made us love the sun, healthy food, swimming in the pool and relaxing in zero gravity.
We can't forget the babies of the house, Martha (Omarthe), sweet and affectionate and an excellent companion for walks and Minnie (minnie, minnie, minnie), shy, cuddly and affectionate at night.
We love lieven and agnes, we love their family, we love the property, it is a beautiful and quiet place, we love their neighbours and friends. We will miss you very much, but we know that we have friends and will be back to visit soon. We believe that we had more than a work experience and cultural exchange, we had an experience of life.

We had a great time with them and we would like them to come back as soon as possible.
We have had already more than 20 workawayers, we keep nice memories of all of them but Ionara and Clay were the best workawayers we ever had.

Debo decir que mi experiencia fue única porque juntos atravesamos los primeros meses de cuarentena
… read more por el Covid (llegue dos semanas antes de que todos los paises cerraran sus fronteras y con la intención de estar un mes, que se termino convirtiendo en 5 meses jaja). Lieven es una persona que te explica muy bien las cosas que tienes que hacer que no son muy difíciles en general, juntos renovamos varios cuartos de la casa de huéspedes y la verdad que aprendí mucho junto a el. Y de Agnes disfrute mucho de sus comidas que eran deliciosas. También tuve la oportunidad de conocer a gran parte de sus familias y amigos, que la verdad son tan increíbles como ellos. Debido a la situación de covid no pudimos hacer muchas cosas fuera de la casa porque obviamente estábamos confinados pero en cuanto se flexibilizaron las restricciones hicimos un par de viajes a la playa y me mostraron algunos lugares cerca de Crouttes. En cuanto al lugar la verdad que es maravilloso es un pueblo muy tranquilo y especial para disfrutar un poco de paz y tranquilidad, yo aproveche mucho para andar en bicicleta y recorrer los alrededores. También para hacer paseos con marta que es la perrita de la familia y es muy hermosa y tranquila, y por supuesto también esta mini que es una gatita también muy hermosa y adorable. Gracias Lieven y Agnes por dejarme compartir con ustedes esta maravillosa experiencia, saludos y espero volver a verlos pronto.
My experience with Lieven and Agnes was the first workaway I did and the truth is that I must say that it was unique and incredible, in none of my other workaways did I feel so comfortable and they offered me the treatment that they both gave me from the first moment. I must say that my experience was unique because together we went through the first months of quarantine due to Covid (I arrived two weeks before all the countries closed their borders and with the intention of staying for a month, which ended up becoming 5 months haha). Lieven is a person who explains very well the things you have to do that are not very difficult in general, together we renovated several rooms in the guest house and the truth is that I learned a lot with him. And from Agnes I really enjoyed her meals which were delicious. I also had the opportunity to meet a large part of their families and friends, the truth is that they are as incredible as they are. Due to the covid situation we weren't able to do many things outside the house because obviously we were confined but as soon as the restrictions eased we made a couple of trips to the beach and they showed me some places near Crouttes. As for the place, the truth is that it is wonderful, it is a very quiet and special town to enjoy a little peace and tranquility, I took advantage of it a lot to ride a bicycle and explore the surroundings. Also to go for walks with Marta who is the family dog and is very beautiful and calm, and of course also it´s Mini who is also a very beautiful and adorable kitten. Gabriel llego en nuestra casa el 4 de marzo 2020. Planeo quedarse un mes y despues irse a Suecia. … read more con un documento de justification y no mas que 1 kilometro de nuestra casa. Nos acomodamos a esta nueva situcion y la vida continuaba. Gabriel nos tenia compania en esta epoca de aislacion.
Gabriel es un chico agradable : tranquilo, discreto, respectuoso, punctual, flexible y con buen sentido de humor. Reimos mucho. Le encanto nuestro perrita Marta, un golden retriever de 2 anos.
Gabriel nos ayudo con el mantenimiento del jardin y las casa de huespedes. Hizo todas las tareas que le pedimos y siempre con mucha dedicacion y la sonrisa. Pinto 20 puertas. Corto el cesped con el tractor (lo que le encantaba lo as) y aprendio a manejar las maquinas para cortar las malas hierbas.
Tambien es un muy buen cocinero. Nos preparo platos deliciosos, tipicos de su pays. Su pasta fresca, sus empenadas y giroccis estaban riquissimos. Nunca olvidamos sus postres : tarta de frambuesas, queso blanco y chocolate blanco y sus galletas con dulce de leche y coco.
Asi pasaron quasi 6 meses hasta el dia que Gabriel se fue a l' encuentro de nuevas aventuras y axperiencias. Etamos muycontentos haber conocerlo y le agradamos por su ayuda y compina agradable. Nunca esteras cecepcionado cuando acceptes Gabriel como workaway para sus proyectos.

Gabriel arrived the 4th of march. He planned to stay with us for 1 month and then go to Sweden. But after about 1 week the world was in the grip of a new virus : corona. It felt like an earthquake. Likemany other european countries France was in lockdown, with very strict rules to follow. We were allowed to leave the house only with a special document and no further than 1 kiometer around the house. We adapted ourselves to this new and exceptional situation and life continued. Gabriel kept us company during this period of isolation.
Gabriel is a nice chap : quiet, respectful, punctual, flexible and with a good sence of humour. We laughed a lot. He loved our dog Marta a golden retriever of 2 years old.
Gabriel helped us with the maintenance of th garden and the guesthouses. He did any task we asked him o do and always with a lot od dedication and a smile. He painted 20 doors. He mowed the lawn with the tractor and learned how to work with the machines for cutting the grass.
He's a good cook too. He prepared lovely meals , typical of his country. His home made pasta's and gnocci's were delicious. We'll never forget his lovely desserts : raspberries-cheese-white chocolate tart and his cookies with dulce de leche and coconut. Thus 6 months passed up to the day he left for new adventures. We are pleased to have met him and thank him for all his help and his pleasant company.
You will not regret accepting him as a workawayer for your projects !

Las actividades que realizamos fueron principalmente en el jardín (podar el césped, regar las flores, cortar el seto, cosechar fresas, entre otras cosas). En algunas ocasiones cuidamos a su perrita Marta y a su gatita Minie, que son bastante amigables y fáciles de cuidar. También realizamos otras tareas como acomodar y limpiar el garage, el ático y en algunas ocasiones la casa de huéspedes.
En relación al alojamiento, fue excelente teníamos una pequeña cocina y un baño para nosotros. Realizábamos las compras juntos y en ocasiones salíamos a pasear a pueblos cercanos.

… read more nos ayudaron con el mantenimiento de nuestras casas de vacaciones. Limpiaron y ordenaron. Son dos especialistas de la limpieza. Y siempre su trabajo fue acompagnado de su sonrisa y su buen entido de humor. Se ocuparon mucho de nuestra perrita Marta, jugando con ella y haciendo paseos. Lo hicieron con mucho amor y carino. Nos assistaron en la cocina preparando la cena. Cenamos juntos y hablamos de todo : su familia, nuestra familia, los costumbres argentinos y la vida de cada dia en su pais. Reimos mucho especialmente con la fantasia de Marilina ! Fue tan divertido con ellos ! Les aprendimos el basico de la lengua francesa, y fuimos de compras juntos, asi que conocieron à nuestro pueblo y a las costumbres francesas.. Y ya que lleguo el dia de despedirse muy (demasiado) rapido. Marilina y Maxi se fueron el 16 de setiembre hasta el sur de Francia para trabjar en la vendimia. Marilina y Maxi son dos personas maravillosas con muchos talentos, curiosos para hacer y aprender nuevas cosas. Hacen las tareas que se les confia con mucha dedicacion !

Cenamos con ellos todas las noches y compartimos muchas conversaciones divertidas , durante nuestra estadía conocimos a las hermanas de Agnes que son igual de agradables que ellos.
Lieven y Agnes queremos agradecerles por habernos cuidado y recibido en su hogar . Fuimos muy felices con ustedes. Vamos a extrañarlos mucho y a Marta que sin duda es una perrita adorable. Hicieron de nuestro primer workaway una experiencia que recordaremos por siempre con una sonrisa.

Pudimos compartir nuestros gustos por la cocina y deleitarlos con nuestra pasión por cocinar y gustos de nuestro país.
Fue un placer cuidar de Ess y Basel, mascotas llenas de amor e incondicional compañía.
Es una experiencia llena de aprendizaje. No se requiere mucho conocimiento, solo tener ganas y voluntad para ayudar en lo necesario.
Nuestra primera experiencia es inolvidable y no nos alcanza las palabras de agradecer por tanto vivido.

… read more nuestros ideas y opiniones, experiencias y cultura. Hicimos excursiones maravillosos por la Normandia. Aprendimos muchas cosas de ellos y ellos de nosotros. Era un intercambio muy fértil. Juan y Milena son dos jobenes muy tiernos, extravertidos, alegres, flexibles, inteligentes y trabajadores. Siempre curiosos y interesados por aprender nuevas habilidades.
Durante 10 meses cocinaron platos deliciosos y sanos respectando nuestro "religion alimentaria" (sin carne roja, sin grasa animal) mezclando la cocina colombiana, peruana, flamenca, holandesa y francesa. Lo hicieron con mucha creatividad, amor y entusiasmo descubriendo sus talentos culinarios. Aprendieron a manegar varias macinas de mantenimiento de jardin (el tractor para cortar el cesped - su macina favorita -, la macina para cortar los cetos). Nos ayudaron en las casas de los huéspedes (limpiar, hacer camas, reorganizar los muebles, pintar, restaurar muebles...). También realisaron un huerto biologico que produzo en abundancia: tomates, calabacin, calabaza, pepino, lechuga, espinaca,...
Hicieron muchas otras tareas. Cualquier cosa que pedimos, siempre estaban dispuestos a ayudar y siempre con la sonrisa y humor.
Recomendamos fuertemente estos dos jobenes tan talentuosos. Fue un gran placer y enriquecimiento encontrarles y una experiencia inolvidable. Siempre marcara nuestra vida.

Juan and Milena arrived at our place at the end of March 2016. Initially they agreed to stay for 2 weeks. Our first contact was very pleasant, spontenous and we felt we would get on well. So 2 weeks became 10 months. We lived together, worked together sharing our ways of living, our habits, ideas and opinions, experiences and culture. We made lovely trips together across Normandy. We learned a lot of things from them and they from us. It was a very fertile exchange and everything happened in a very natural way.
Juan and Milena are very easy going, tender, open, cheerful, intelligent and hardworking. Always curious and interested in learning new skills. During 10 months they prepared delicious and healthy meals however always respecting our "nutritional religion" (we don't eat red meat nor animal fat), combining the Colombian, Peruvian, Flemish, Dutch and French way of cooking. Always with a lot of enthousiasm, creativity and "con amor", discovering their culinary skills. They learned how to use several machines for the maintenance of the garden (the sitmower, the brush cutter for trimming the hedges). They helped us in the guestshouses (cleaning, making beds, moving, reorganizing and restauring furniture, painting). They created a biological vegetable garden: we got plenty of tomatos, courgettes, pumpkins, cucumbers, lettuce, spinach...
They did loads of other jobs for us. Whatever we needed or asked them to do, they were always willing to help and never without their lovely big smile and good sense of humor.
We highly recommend them as Workawayers. They have got so many talents. It was a great pleasure and very enriching to have met them and an unforgettable experience. It changed our live.

Como podemos describir casi 10 meses con estas personas tan hermosas? comencemos, llegamos un 22 de Marzo a las estación de trenes de Lisieux, allí nos recogieron y desde el primer momento sentimos la calidez y amabilidad de Agnes y Lieven. … read more medida que nos hacíamos buenos amigos el tiempo se fue alargando, tanto que no queríamos irnos y ahora los consideramos como unos padres amorosos, para nosotros ayudarlos en en su casa fue un verdadero placer, en el día trabajábamos en el jardín, cortando el cesped, podando los setos, sacando la mala yerba, a veces cavando en la tierra y haciendo concreto para algún proyecto con futuro de Lieven y en otoño recogiendo manzanas y hojas, a veces trabajamos dentro de la casa, limpiando y organizando, pintando algo, ordenando las casas para los huéspedes, ayudando en la reparación de algo o cuidando a sus bebes Basel y Ess (un gato y una perrita), siempre hay algo por hacer y trabajar con Agnes y Lieven que son personas tan suaves es algo tan natural que no lo sentíamos como un trabajo, para nosotros fue vivir con ellos, ayudarles y sobre todo compartir y conocer sus vidas, casi todas las noches cocinábamos, era muy emocionante, fue en su casa donde aprendimos un poco a preparar una comida, nunca lo habíamos hecho antes y descubrimos que nos gusta mucho! aprendimos demasiadas cosas con ellos, visitamos pueblos hermosos, hicimos caminatas por lugares mágicos, reimos, jugamos, conocimos sus familias, sus hijos, sus hermanos, sus amigos, todos ellos personas maravillosas que llevaremos por siempre en nuestro corazón. La experiencia con Agnes y Lieven fue absolutamente magnifica, es imposible no recordarlos con una sonrisa en nuestro rostro, tendremos siempre una anedocta para contar de nuestra vida, todas las risas, bailes, historias, comidas, pedos, canciones, frases, lugares, personas, pinturas, esculturas, verduras, museos, castillos, cervezas, quesos, vinos, cidras, poires, panes, abrazos, recorridos, mermeladas, postres, iglesias, chistes y tantas cosas mas han marcado nuestras vidas para siempre. Gracias Bebeses por todo su amor, ayuda y la inmensa bondad que tuvieron y tienen con nosotros, Gracias infinitas, los amamos y recordamos, esperamos poder volver abrazarlos algún día, ya sea en Francia, Colombia, Perú, Bélgica o cualquier lugar del mundo! How can we describe almost 10 months with these beautiful people? let's start, we arrived on March 22 at the train station of Lisieux, there they picked up us and from the first moment we felt the warmth and kindness of Agnes and Lieven. Their house is adorable and very quiet, we initially agreed to be with them 2 weeks later Little by little as we became good friends the time was lengthening, so much that we didn't want to leave and now we consider them as loving parents. for us to help them at home was a real pleasure, in the day we worked in the garden, Cutting the lawn, pruning the hedges, removing the bad grass, sometimes digging in the ground and making concrete for some project with future of Lieven and in autumn picking apples and leaves, sometimes we work inside the house, cleaning and organizing, painting Something, putting all in order in the houses for the guests, helping in the repair of something or taking care of their babies Basel and Ess (a cat and a dog), there is always something to do and work with Agnes and Lieven who are so soft people is something so natural that we didn't feel it like a job, for us it was to live with them, to help them and especially to share and know their lifes, almost every night we cooked, it was very exciting, it was in their house where we learned a little to prepare a meal, we had never done it before and discovered that we like it very much! We learned a lot of things with them, we visited beautiful towns, we made walks through magical places, we laughed, we played, we knew their familys, their children, their brothers, their friends, all of them wonderful people that we will carry forever in our heart. The experience with Agnes and Lieven was absolutely magnificent, it is impossible not to remember them with a smile on our face, we will always have an anecdote to tell of our life in here, all the laughter, dances, stories, food, farts, songs, phrases, places, people, paintings, sculptures, vegetables, museums, castles, beers, cheeses, wines, ciders, poirs, breads, hugs, tours, jams, desserts, churches, jokes and so much more have marked our lives forever. Maria Isabel tiene un caracter muy dulce. Compone canciones muy bonitas y originales. Hemos apreciado profundamente su ayuda con la limpieza,el mantenimiento del jardin y la decoracion de la casa. Por la tarde nos preparo la cena utilisando sus talentos de cocinera, su creatividad y su imaginacion. Cuido tambièn a nuestros animales domesticos (perro y gato) con mucha atencion, dedicacion y amor.

… read more cenas, las cenas juntos eran muy agradables, también disponíamos de nuestro espacio y tiempo libre. También nos llevamos muy bien con toda la gente que pasó por allí, familia, vecinos, otros workawayer que estuvieron unos pocos días… nos sentimos como de la familia. Hablamos en español la mayor parte del tiempo. Tienen una perra y un gato, Ess y Basel a los que también echaremos de menos. El sitio es muy bonito, tiene unas vistas impresionantes, el cambio de las estaciones es muy vistoso en el paisaje. Un lugar tranquilo y alejado de las grandes ciudades y el ruido. Nos llevamos muchos recuerdos. Agnes y Lieven son muy amables, simpáticos y la convivencia con ellos fue muy buena. Nos sentimos acogidos desde el primer día, sin duda volveríamos.
We are delighted with our experience as Workawayers with Agnes and Lieven. How to summarize these four and a half months? It was the first time we went as Workawayers and the truth is that we are very happy. Agnes and Lieven are a great couple with whom we have shared work, (they were always very grateful), laughs, walks, tours and dinners; dinners together were very nice. They were very respectful where as privacy (we had our own apartment) and spare time are concerned. We also got along very well with all the people who passed by, family, neighbours, other Workawayers who stayed there for 2 weeks...it felt like family. We spoke Spanish most of the time (Agnes and Lieven are studying Spanish and were pleased to practice with us). They have a dog and a cat, Ess and Basel, we miss them as well. The property is very nice, has stunning views, the changing of the seasons is very attractive in the landscape. A quiet place, far away from big cities and noise. We'll keep a lot of good memories. Agnes and Lieven are very kind, friendly and living with them with them was a pleasure and easy going. Nosotros sólo estuvimos alrededor de 15 días, y se nos pasó el tiempo volando allí. Agnes y Lieven son sin duda para nosotros dos de las personas más geniales que hemos conocido. … read more olvidar cuanto nos reímos allí, ni tampoco muchas de las cosas características de la zona y de los paisajes que nos rodeaban. Honestamente, todo el tiempo que pasamos con Lieven, Agnes y el hermano de Agnes, Pablo (Tito Popol!) fue refrescante para nuestro ánimo y absolutamente inolvidable. Fue además nuestra primera experiencia con Workaway y, realmente, el paso que dimos hacia ella no nos fue difícil: pues, como solemos ahora decir, pasamos de estar en nuestra casa con nuestros padres, a estar alli, en casa con nuestros abuelos.
Además, todo lo relativo al trabajo a hacer allí, se desarrolló de manera muy agradable para todos. Ellos nos dejaban total libertad para descansar si lo necesitábamos, siempre y cuando acabásemos por cumplir nuestras cinco horas, lo cual siempre hacíamos por voluntad, y no debido a ningún tipo de presión. En cuanto a los resultados del trabajo, ellos fueron siempre muy agradecidos, y no tardaban en expresárnoslo de forma sincera.
Respecto al lugar, todos nosotros pensamos que es precioso, y estando allí pudimos disfrutar de él con mucha libertad y confianza...!No lo imaginaríais!
También, con ellos hicimos (aún estando allí poco tiempo) varias excursiones por los alrededores e incluso visitas a nivel turístico y gastronómico, a varios pueblos cercanos y, como salida especial, una visita de un día entero al Monte St Michel, lo cual fue increíble.
Verdaderamente, fue una lástima abandonar ese lugar sólo después de quince días, pero todos nosotros estamos seguros de que volveremos y que, hasta entonces, nos encantará compartir con ellos un hilo de correos de forma regular. Pues realmente, han llegado a ser en nuestra vidas personas más que importantes.
