  Beschreibung

  We are a family of 4, with 2 children 12 and 14 years old. We have been traveling with our family around the world living with familes and we would like to give back this wonderful experience and keep meeting people and families from around the globe in our hometown. Families with kids the age of ours are specially welcome!
  
  Even though we are very happy to teach Catalan to anyone willing to learn, one of the main aims of our Workaway experience is to practice English. So we'd expect to speak mostly in English with you. We hope this is not a problem!
  
  We live in a detached house with a small garden in Cardedeu which is a town 30min from Barcelona. It is a very convinient place to explore Barcelona city center (45 minutes by train) or the beaches or mountains around us (30 minutes by car).
  
  We can accomodate couples or families up to 4 people (if you are a family of 5, let us know and we can discuss if we see it feasible!).
  
  Marta and Ruben are teachers of primary and secondary school and we are fluent in Catalan, Spanish and English. We can also speak a little bit of German and French. Our children, Roger and Arnau, are quite fluent in English and they are learning some German.

  Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten

  We are an easy going family and our visitors will live with a Catalan family. We are very interested on getting to know people from abroad and sharing our way of life with them. We love cooking, having BBQ's or making paellas in our garden or sharing a cold drink at the end of the day.
  Cardedeu is a very convinient location at the foot of the Montseny national park, 30min drive from the beaches and 45 min by train from Barcelona.

  Arbeit

  We are mostly interested on getting to know people and practice our English.
  We can offer bed and dinner, and of course the use of our home and kitchen to cook for yourself (breakfast is quite quick at home and lunch is very late, so it's difficult to share them).
  In exchange we expect support with house cleaning, cooking, gardening, maybe helping us doing some wall painting ... 10-15h per week per person should be enough and we are completely flexible on how to organize this time, so that you can enjoy the area around us. We are also expecting you to spend most afternoons and dinners at home, since the cultural exchange and practicing English (specially for our children) is part of our objective at being in Workaway. This is not considered to be part of these 10-15h per week.

  We are a Catalan speaking family, so, honestly, our home is not the best place if you want to practice your Spanish because we always speak in Catalan amongst ourselves :-) Anyways, if you happen to be willing to learn / practice Catalan, definetely we are the people you are looking for!!! Our level of English is very good. Our children are also learning English and they are always glad to practice :-)

  Unterkunft

  We live in a detached house in the middle of the town. We can go shopping on foot and the train station is also a 10min walk. Bars and restaurants are also on walking distance. We live on the first floor of our house, but we have a second floor with 1 big room that will be all for you. We have two bathrooms, you would be sharing one with our kids (don't worry! They are well educated and knock before they get in!). The kitchen and living room will be shared.
