Greetings from North Idaho! We are nestled in the trees above Pend Oreille lake, 15 miles from Sandpoint Idaho. If you come to visit us you will have a opportunity to participate in Sweat Lodge ceremony, possibly native american church ceremony and learn different teachings. We sweat every weekend with our local community and frequently have N.A.C. meetings. This season, we are building a wood shed, and a hogon (native style building for ceremonies). Also, clearing and cleaning up the land.
There is many different kinds of medicines growing in the nature here that we can harvest or you can at least learn about. On Wed. And Saturday the farmers market is a great place to shop. If you love the nature this is the place to spend time. Schweitzer Mountain ski resort is 40 minutes to the top from our home for hiking, huckleberry picking, mt biking and just being. there are loads of creeks and stream in the vast mountains surrounding us. The lake is 60 miles of shore line and is known for her healing waters, and she is more on the refreshing side than smaller lakes. Sandpoint is a quaint town and a touristy town in the summer months with farmers markets, local music, organic restaurants and regular ones too.

We are very involved in indigenous ceremony's and have had a hard time balancing our commitments to these ceremonies and getting our place in working order. My husband is a Native American, Lakota. We have a sweat lodge and tepee site on the grounds and we take care of a Sundance in South Dakota every June. We are also involved with a few other ceremonies and you are more than welcome to join us. My husband is very traditional and also knowledgeable about his people and there traditions and ceremonies. We are also looking to learn from others who come here to help us. I am not sure what other benefits there would be to coming here and helping us but I am certain there will be many many more than you could know for yourself and for us.

My husband and I moved onto this land a few summers ago and we want to get the basics laid out on the land. We are working on getting it ready for ceremony and for retreats. We will be building a structure over our sweat lodge to make it more practical for winter weather, and we also have a apartment to finish above our garage and siding on our little cabin, which is where you would most likely stay. There is always the winter wood that needs tending to and there is plenty in the surrounding forest. Most of the help is outside.

The cabin is only 12/10ft with a view of the lake through the trees. The are three windows, the largest one looks out onto the lake, and has a small 3'/4' table that comfortably seats two in front of it, which makes a great place to craft or just sip a cup of coffee. Guests can utilize the shower in the main house. We will supply bedding. We will share the house kitchen and bathroom. If you smoke we just ask that you are conscious about placing the tobacco remnants in the receptacles. We have one dog and I keep him in at night and they are usually quiet in the day. We are drug free, so we ask that you not partake in those activity this while staying here.
We have a apt that is almost finished with 2 bedrooms. There is also plenty of tent space. it will depend on who is here and what we can make work.
