I'm a 56 years old Retired Nurse who lived in Canada for 34 years and just purchased a piece of the Atlantic Forest on the Mantiqueira Mountains.

Our focus is to create a Canadian Ecovillage in Brazil, where we use English as our first Language, so locals can improve their language skills while visiting our beautiful forest! Our areas of interests and needing of assistance are on organic gardening, free range chicken and sheep farming, Reforestation of the Atlantic Forest by seedlings and also doing the planting, Agroforestry, Environmental Education and Research, Veterinary care for our sheep, dogs and chicken, small construction projects and a lot of Carpentry, small building projects, sewerage, water capitation and Electrical issues fixing and maintenance.

We encourage people from all over the world to visit, market and contribute with our projects. I completely agree that 4 hours a day is a fair trade. Do your work and go explore the Atlantic Forest!💚 Boots, long pants long sleeves and gloves are necessary for safety reasons. Snakes are everywhere in the forest!🐍 Bring a water filter as well. I drink water straight from our mountais, but you might want to filter it.

Our Volunteers must NOT smoke. Social drinks is accepted at your own expenses. You will be considerate towards others at all times and participate on daily routines such as general cleaning, meals preps, maintaining main areas such as kitchen, bathroom, kennel, chicken coup, sheep house and all living and entertaining areas clean daily. We appreciate two weeks stayers, but we're willing to be open to take longer stayers, as long bother sides are pleased.

We don't cook for guests but we encourage visitors and campers to participate during meals preparations and social other activities such as hiking, swimming or being around the firepit on cold evenings. For your protection, please bring long neck boots, gardening gloves, hats, sunscreen and a must have, rain coats. Be aware that forest living offers many perks, but can be dangerous as well. There are amphibians, insects, birds and reptiles whose only home, are inside of the Atlantic Rain Forest.🐍🐸🐆

Please have all your immunizatios up to date, including tetanus, yellow fever and Corona Virus if possible. It might be a good idea to also bring a water filter, mosquito repellent/net, long neck Boots, lonf sleeves/pants working clothing, hats, Rain coat and a many pairs of construction/gardening gloves.

We are able to accommodate Singles only in our shared dorm for Volunteers.
Please bring your own tent to stay during the one week quarentine required.
