  We are a non-profit charity accommodation with a mission is to provide safe, affordable accommodation to help individuals visit a spectacular region of natural beauty and foster an appreciation of the outdoors. The facility hosts groups, travellers, families of up to 60 individuals, and is located in the heart of the rugged northwest of Ireland surrounded by incredible scenery and surroundings. It serves as a hub for hillwalkers and outdoor enthusiasts and those seeking to immerse in Irish culture. There are 15 bed rooms consisting of shared dorms and privates rooms, and self-catering kitchen facilities.

  We are located in a small rural mountain village in the county of Donegal in the NW of Ireland. The facility is in the mountains and near a National Park with an abundance of outdoor splendour - mountains, a glen, lake, forest in walking distance. We are part of a friendly and culturally rich, Gaeltacht community abundant in friendliness and local knowledge. There is a community heritage centre down the road specialising in traditional weaving. This is not a place to come for clubbing or nightlife - There is one shop, one petrol station, one pub, one church and one seasonal heritage centre but for outdoor immersion - it is perfect. . The larger town, Letterkenny, with links to Dublin Airport etc, and major stores (Tesco, Dunnes, movie theatre) is located about 45 minutes away and is only accessible by a local link bus several times a day. The beach and a small town with a foodstore and chemist is about 10 minutes drive but no public transport. It is most ideal to have a car to get around.

  Looking for individuals to help add those special touches getting the hostel re-opening for a new season. We are creating a new modern vibe and looking for ideas for decorating room and common space, art work, and creating information boards for marketing to travellers like yourself so your input will be valued. Once we open, help with the smooth operation and making sure it is clean and comfortable for visitors.
  
  We are happy to offer an exchange a few hours work for accommodation which is limited in the region. We would welcome you to help out a few hours a day updating the hostel theme but you will have plenty of free time to enjoy the hills and explore. Our spoken language is English, although some of the locals are fluent in Irish. We want you to learn the local culture and language, but also share yours with our guests.

  Employees and the community will speak English but the hostel is located in a Gaeltacht, an Irish speaking community so locals may converse in their native language. We pride ourselves on the locality and host many Irish speaking groups so signage can be found bi-lingually throughout the building.

  Unterkunft

  Volunteers will be housed in a dorm room sharing with other volunteers. There are shared bathroom and shower facilities. There is a self-catering kitchen available to be shared with guests. Volunteers will be able to make their own meals and make use of this kitchen. Volunteers are responsible for meals and for all self preparation.
  
  Please note that peaceful co-habitation is extremely important and we look for individuals who clean up after themselves and live well with others.

  We are located in a beautifully located rural village of Dunlewey, surrounded by hills and lakes. It's a haven for anyone who loves being in the middle of nature and wandering the hills.This will suit people who would enjoy scenic countryside, cycling, hill walking, nature or Irish music. Hours to make your contributions are flexible.
  
  Volunteers are held to the same standards as other staff and guests and are expected to be professional, respectful, honest and reliable. In exchange for housing in one of the most beautiful places in the world, it is expected that tasks are completed as required. During your free time, there are endless walks and exploration in the local mountains or interactions with the locals to learn about our culture. With your own transport, you can explore the entire county. Workers will be required to have a visa that allows you to work in Ireland/Europe.
  
  We did not have volunteers in over 10 years so our reviews are old in case you were wondering!
