  ***IMPORTANT UPDATE***
  Due to personal circumstances the situation has changed and we are closing the project down at the end of this month until April next year.

  We are bringing a famous ocean racing catamaran back to life. I rescued this famous boat from being chopped up by the previous owners and am committed to preserving this piece of sailing history. We are using recycled materials wherever possible and our aim is to create a comfortable fast cruising catamaran which we will then sail to exotic locations around the world.
  
  Our schedule is laid back but we do like a sense of achievement at the end of the day. The most important part of a big project like this is that we have fun whilst doing it. So we are always playing good music, eating well and experimenting ideas and so far it's been pretty effective. There are a lot of individual jobs to be done, however, it's a team effort and there should be no stress whatsoever on the worksite!
  The sun is out nearly everyday and winter is mild here.
  
  We are planning on sailing this beauty around the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Asia and South Pacific. So if you'd ever like to come on the boat when it's rocking and rolling you will be most welcome.

  The travellers will learn lots of new skills in boat repair and maintenance utilizing recycleable materials. There will also be opportunities to learn how to work with Fibreglass, welding stainless steel and sail repair.
  Nazare has a rich fishing history and you will be able to get a taste of the local fishing community with the boatyard being located inside the fishing port.
  The worlds largest waves are soon in season and there are also surf, jet-ski, beach football and other competitions being held throughout the year.

  Arbeit

  We are looking for people to help with a large recycling project to renovate a large ocean going catamaran to get it sailing again. The jobs range from scrubbing the decks, painting and general cleaning all the way to redesigning and creating our own outboard engines, mast and also constructing a new deck.
  There is work for all skill levels and any prior boat knowledge is always much appreciated as we are figuring this thing out as we go!
  We are also looking for artists to bring the boat to life!
  
  The shifts can vary depending on the workload but overall there is a maximum of 5 hours work a day.
  You can start in the morning at 9am and work until 12:30 then break for lunch and do a bit more in the afternoon or start later in the morning and finish no later than 5:30.
  
  The work can be exciting or quite slow and laborious. Everyday is different and the jobs are always time consuming as we are figuring everything out as we go. However, if we are enjoying ourselves then this doesn't matter so much. Initiative is very much appreciated!
  
  There is a local man working on the boat everyday from 9 and he can help with orders and expertise, those with extra skill would be more likely to run mini teams of 2 or 3. Just so everyone can learn to do things the right way.

  Unterkunft

  A shared bedroom in a Nice Apartment in Nazare.
  We have 2 single beds in a shared bedroom in our apartment.
  There is also a double bed available this coming week.
  
  We can offer only 1 bed for the couples. But if you love birds have got a van then no problems!
  
  Great ocean view - we can watch the "port do sul" every night and we get a view of the big waves (when they roll in) from our doorstep.
  
  10-15 minutes walk to main beach, swimming pool, gym and supermarkets. Close enough to hear the ocean at night :)
  
  Altogether: 2 singles beds at the apartment

  Wifi is available in the apartment, however you might want to have your own data as 60gb can run out sometimes.
  All utilities and transport to and from the worksite.
  
  Plenty of space to park your vehicle if you have one.
  
  Breakfast and lunch is prepared by yourself (you can help yourself to the pantry)
  Dinner we cook altogether.

  If you have a musical instrument or surfing gear, bring it along! There are numerous surf schools in the area that will take you surfing to the best surf spots each day.
