María was my first guest and she is very nice and interesting. Everything was kept in order. Spoke English with my daughter and children. It was really very useful, because I remembered a lot of forgotten English words myself. It was nice to share impressions about different cultures, because María travels a lot and can tell a lot of interesting

I've just spent a week with Inese and her sweet daughter Jazmine at a beautiful wooden house by a lake close to Preili. Although the house is under construction, it's possible to stay at her caravan beside it, which has a shower, kitchen and a big bed, so I would recommend it if the weather is good, such as summertime. The lake and surroundings
… read more are beautiful, and Inese made sure I had a good idea of them, as every day she collected me to visit somewhere different. She introduced me to her partner, who took us on his huge truck. I also met her parents, and we went mushroom picking in the forest. Inese arranged to meet with a few of her friends at her houses, so it was very interesting to learn from them. We also had a painting session with a few of her friends, all hospitable and friendly.
Jazmine is learning English: she listened to our conversations quite a lot, and from time to time she'd say a few words in English. As I was the first volunteer to have spent time with her, I found her friendly and open for such an experience.
Inese is very open and talkative. She's kind to take her time explaining about life and history in Latvia and especially Latgalia, which I found very interesting.
Thank you Jazmine and Inese for having given me the chance to have shared this week with you. Inese, I wish you all the best with developing your ongoing beautiful project.
