  Welcome. I'm an Aussie retiree living in a small bilingual village in the hills of the Eastern Townships of Quebec.
  
  I have a large residential organic garden, with perrenial beds, shrubs and vegetable beds.
  My home is spacious, with lots of room for you to hang out in your free time, when you aren't busy exploring the area..
  
  My village is 1 hr 20 mins from Montreal & 10 minutes from the Vermont border. The village is a popular centre for outdoor activities ( skiing, hiking, biking), with a vibrant tourism scene on weekends, but tranquil during the week.
  
  I can provide you with a private bedroom & bathroom, meals, & local information about great hikes and bike rides. I have 2 bikes available for use.

  As well as increasing your knowledge of landscaping & organic gardening, you will have the opportunity to learn about local life in a vibrant bilingual village, founded by the English-speaking Loyalists , & now undergoing a wave of new settlement by urban French-speaking folk. Lots of artists, yoga studios permiculturalists , organic & traditional farmers, as well as urban escapees.
  
  You will also have the opportunity to do some superb hikes in the mountains & valleys that surround the village. If you have no car, I would be happy to take you to nearby villages or hiking destinations on alternate days, and you'll be able to use my bicycles to reach closer destinations .

  Arbeit

  I am seeking help this spring with
  -regular spring garden chores (preparation of perrenial beds, weeding etc)
  - moving & splitting wood from recently felled ash trees *
  - stonework preparation for future drainage work.*
  - window cleaning
  - painting a small entry room
  
  (* Physical strength a necessity)
  
  I am seeking a person or couple with at least a basic knowledge of gardening, landscaping, & perrenial beds . This year I'm reducing my organic food growing, so only basic weeding of some vegetable beds is required.
  
  Please do not contact me if you like to sleep in, as I'm looking for someone who's able to assist me from roughly 8.30am to 12.30pm.
  
  Note that I am seeking assistance for only one week in total, rather than a series of Workawayers .

  Private bedroom and bathroom in my home, with lots of communal space. Small bedroom if one person, bigger room if couple.
  
  I can provide food ( dietary preferences to be discussed). I would expect that you prepare your own breakfasts. I prefer to share cooking if possible. I am keen to be enriched by your food culture, so some shared food preparation is an asset.

  I enjoy hosting people in my home and sharing laughter and good times. I am independent and have some community obligations, so you will have the opportunity for alone time too.
  I treat others with respect and thrive on equal exchanges.
  Local transportation is very poor. If you require pickup at the nearest bus stop, (30 minutes away) I can do so.
