Beschreibung
We are a family home looking for help around the house and garden, a home project and at times sitting for our 10-year-old twins. Help includes laundry, light cleaning, and cooking. Gardening and yardwork would also be appreciated. We are experienced HelpXers over many years and love the cultural exchange and learning that comes with having travellers in our home. Our village a beach and mountain community is 30 minutes from downtown Vancouver, located on the stunning Sea to Sky highway. We cannot accept smokers; those with dietary preferences may be accommodated depending on the circumstances. We are comfortable with shorter stays of 3-5 days or last-minute requests. Our preference is for stays of around 2 weeks but for the right fit in our busy family we could extend beyond that. Looking forward to hosting you!

We are an international family - South African/British living in Canada. We have ourselves travelled widely and enjoy sharing the cultures and experiences of our international travellers. We live in a cosmopolitan city and entertain frequently.
There is so much to do in our local area with walks, the beach and natural environment in close promximity. The local walking group walks on Monday and I am a member of another couple of hiking groups. There is a bus at the bottom of our road for transport or poparide have been used very successfully by our previous guests. -
Arbeit
We've had au pairs and helpers for over 10 years on another platform previously. Some helpers have worked on a one-off project but largely our help involves support around the house and garden and at times sitting for our 10-year-old twins. Help around the home includes small organising tasks (cupboards and storage areas), laundry, house cleaning, and cooking if you're able. INITIATIVE and a willing attitude are essentials along with an ability to meld in with our busy family life with a lot of comings and goings.

Unterkunft
Our home has beautiful views from every room as our home overlooks the Howe Sound. You will be housed in our very large spacious recreation room with a 72 inch TV, a separate bathroom and a lounge area (the bed is a comfortable inflatable double bed). Our community is a 15-minute walk from the local beach with trails on our doorstep and our Monday walking group are welcoming - a highlight of a visit in our village.
We can accommodate vegetarians if you're prepared to complement our meals yourself - but not any other food preferences. We eat healthily and cook from scratch every evening. -

Note this is not a city placement or one for bright lights and partying as we are a bit outside of the city of Vancouver! Our home is busy with children's activities, so you will need to be comfortable with a lot of coming and going and the demands of our jobs...which is why the help is always so appreciated. We always enjoy sharing our beautiful slice of paradise over the weekends!
