While I stayed with them, I helped bring the kids to school, make them lunch, play with them, and retrieve them again from their local school, which is super close to the house. My Spanish still isn’t great, but I learned a lot from my conversations with Anna, Josep, and especially Leia!
Igualada was a great place to live—not so big it was overwhelming and not so small I was bored. There were many beautiful paths to explore and trails to follow around the outskirts of the town, and it was always fun to go to the center and browse through the different shops.

The room was comfy. Igualada is a nice place and from there you can visit Barcelona and other interesting places, better if you have a car or a motorbike

I couldn't speak Spanish and the kids, mostly leya (the older girl) made a really big effort to speak English with me. Mathéo is the youngest, so it was really sweet spending
… read more time with him. He will need the most help (help him get dressed, put shoes on, walking next to him to school). The older kids can more or less do everything by themselves!
In the evening all the family ate together and on the weekends they invited me to come to trips with them, like visiting their grandparents etc. I really enjoyed the time I spend with the family.
Still most of the time I was home alone and bored, cause I didn't had any friends in the town Igualada. I tried to find some people, through bumble bff, but they didn't actively live in Igualada. On the weekends I went to Barcelona, which was really great !! (Found people on bumble to meet in Barcelona). I took a BlaBlaCar from Igualada to Barcelona and back, which costed me about 6€.
The food they cooked was alright, but since you need to cook for lunch, you can do whatever you want.
You have a private room, with a window, table, a comfortable bed, so all in all very good ! I decorated my room, with my jewelry and some fabrics, so I feel more home :).
All in all it was a great experience. I really liked the family, they were really nice and always trying to involve me in the conversation, since I couldn't speak Spanish. I would love to see this beautiful family again!

Igualada is a lovely city and there are a lot of beautiful places to see there, moreover Anna and Pepe could advise me which walks to do. I had a lot of free time so I could take books at the library in the center and learn Spanish.

My daily routine started at 8:00 in the morning, when i had to wake up to have breakfast with the kids, prepare them a snack to eat at school, like a fruit or a sandwich, and then take them to school at 09:00. After this, I used to prepare lunch and

After lunch it was time for the fun games! We used to spend a lot of time on the garden, jumping on the trampoline, playing board games, hide and seek, the “spider” game and others. The kids are super creative and full of energy.
Leia (8) always had new and creative ideas for games and used to explain to me and her younger brothers super excited. She is also very passionate about reading and learning new languages. With me, she practiced English and a little bit of Portuguese and even French! Quim (6) love sports! When I was there, he used to love practicing tennis at the garden, or playing Wii Sports. He has a lot of energy and like to try new things! Pep (6) not always loved the games or sports, but he loved to be together, he is a really loving kid. He is the cutest huger i know! Mateu (2), the baby, is also very passionate about books! Almost every day he used to grab a book and put it on my lap so I could read with him! When i was there, he was about to start speaking and it was super cute!
Besides that, the kids are very polite, fun, smart and eager to learn. Everyday, when i got them at school, I used to teach them a word in English that would be the “password” to enter the house. They were super excited about it. They also help a lot in the house duties, like setting the meals table everyday.
Even though we were at Catalunya, they used to speak in Spanish with me, what helped me to improve my language skills a lot. The city is small, but Barcelona is very close, about 1:30 by bus. However, because of the pandemic, I wasn’t able to travel there much. For this reason, i used to spend the weekends with them also and we always had a movie night!
