  We are an English couple who have a small olive grove surrounded by cypress trees. We live in a remote and natural location, but not too far from local villages, beaches, restaurants and bars. The plot of land affords an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. Everyone that visits says the land has positive energy. We have no neighbours. Wild animals such as wild boars, jackals and foxes roam around the area.
  
  We are still in the early stages of creating an off-the-grid oasis in the forest, and have a yurt and an old Hymer that we restored. We are 100% solar-powered and have Wi-Fi.
  
  It is about a 20-25 minute walk to the nearest mountain village (uphill) and about a 50-55 minute walk to the nearest beach (downhill). In a car it takes about 7 minutes and 15 minutes to do either journey. It would be helpful if you had transport because of our location.
  
  This project wouldn't suit anyone as we live close to nature without regular facilities such as a flushing toilet. Ask yourself if you could go for a pee in the woods or use a compost toilet?

  This is a wonderful opportunity to live off grid in a peaceful and secluded position and stay in a beautiful yurt. Ideal for people who love nature, peace and tranquility. The plot has a special atmosphere of intimacy and cosy wilderness when darkness falls and the stars shine. WorkAwayers will learn about keeping chickens, off-grid living, olive farming, Greek culture, and themselves.

  Arbeit

  We plan to go on a short trip leaving on 14th May 2024 for 1 week (returning on the 21st May) and thus are in need of someone to look after our chickens while we are away. There is one cockerel and eight hens. They're very entertaining creatures.
  
  It's a fairly easy WorkAway experience, as the chickens largely take care of themselves. Duties include letting them out everyday to rummage, cleaning their coup, feeding them, and collecting any eggs (which you can enjoy for your breakfast). They return to their coup/run by themselves. The door to the coup/run must be locked every evening as their are many jackals and foxes in the area. You will hear the jackals!

  WorkAwayers can stay in our lovely yurt which has a double bed. We have an old hymer (camper van) that has cooking and washing facilities. Wi-Fi is available. We also have a BBQ and chiminea that can be used for cooking.

  Was noch ...

  In their spare time volunteers can enjoy everything the area has to offer including fantastic sandy beaches, excellent tavernas and bars. There are popular beaches like Kalogria to the more remote and peaceful Delfinia.
  
  Away from the beach there are various mountain and fishing villages to explore such as Kastania, Milea, Nomitsi, Trahila and Agios Nikolaos. The latter has a lovely harbour which is a great spot to dine and enjoy a glass of wine or cold beer.
  
  For nature enthusiasts there are good hiking routes and exceptionally beautiful landscapes. In terms of wildlife, you are likely to spot jackals, foxes, and even wild boar during your stay. Birds of prey are common sightings too. You may also spot a weasel, pine marten or dormouse.
  
  The newest facility in the area is a tennis court which can be hired by the hour day or night.
  
  Two good quality bicycles are available. Car hire is available locally.
