Beschreibung
We are Gargi and Kiran from Aurangabad, Maharashtra. For the past three years, we have been on a journey of unlearning and deschooling ourselves. Our seven-year-old son, Tasmai, has been unschooled, and we practice "do nothing" parenting, observing and letting him lead his own learning. This journey has also been spiritual, helping us understand ourselves and our roots, aiming for happiness and contentment, which naturally extends to our child.
We have made significant lifestyle choices, such as avoiding 9 to 5 jobs and involving ourselves in various processes like growing our own vegetables, cooking, and carpentry. We are transitioning from professional work to following our passions. I (Gargi) am a fashion designer by education but found my true calling in designing products from scrap, leading to my brand. Kiran is a civil engineer by profession and a passionate photographer.
We felt fortunate to be born and brought up in an historical city near Ajanta and Ellora caves.
Four years ago, we designed and built our home using vernacular materials, inspiring us to delve deeper into vernacular architecture. You can explore our work through the links provided below.
We warmly welcome world traveler, homeschooling children and their parents to stay with us and share in this enriching experience.Arten von Hilfe und Lernmöglichkeiten

We are a family of five—my spouse Kiran, our 7-year-old son Tasmai, his grandparents, and me. Tasmai is an unschooler, learning naturally at his own pace, and we follow a “do nothing” parenting approach. Our home is always open to guests from all over the world, something that both Tasmai and the grandparents particularly enjoy.
Kiran and I are freelancers and artists. In 2020, we built our home using vernacular materials such as mud, lime, and stone. This project sparked our deep interest in vernacular architecture, leading us to explore different building techniques from across India. We’re also fortunate to have been born and raised in Aurangabad, a historic city near the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Ellora and Ajanta.
