  Looking for 1 or 2 work-awayers in the first half of August.
  5-6 days
  We are a little bit behind our work in the olives because it will be our first year of harvesting . It would be nice to have some people here to talk with while working, eating nice and fresh food together, sitting in a lovely surrounding in the evening and listening to the sounds of nature and having interesting conversations.
  We are a couple just newly retired in Italy, which means new tasks and new challenges, which are completely different from our old home in Germany. Our small house is surrounded by tranquillity and nature and the bustle of the city is far away.
  We want to grow vegetables and fruits and try to be self-sufficient (we have done this already in Germany). We like the idea of permaculture and independency.
  During the year we need help with the maintenance of the vegetable garden and the surrounding land (cutting bushes, pruning olivetrees, maintain the olive grove, weeding the garden). But first of all we need to clear all our new land because it was neglected for 25 years. The vegetable garden is always our highest priority during the year. Secondly we try to clean the olive groves and start to free them from brambles and other spiky bushes.
  We love what we do and enjoy sharing our knowledge with volunteers who are interested in living ecologically and a sustainable lifestyle.
  After working ourselves as workawayers twice in Italy, which was interesting and great fun, we think we would like to be hosts ourselves and share our knowledge with new people.
  We don't offer luxury - the water comes from rainwater, we use a compost toilet and our electricity is produced mainly by the sun, which means that we expect the workawayer to use the energy consciously and thrifty. We are vegetarians.

  Unterkunft

  We offer a caravan which has two separated beds and if you like it can be devided in two rooms. The caravan offers privacy, because it is parked 200 meters away from our small house. We will provide all vegetarian meals and expect that you participate in preparing the meals. Mainly we try to use the products form from the garden. We also appreciate it if we learn some new recipes.

  In your free time you can enjoy walks directly from the house into the forest or into the lovely nearby town of Bajardo. If you are looking for a vibrating surrounding, it is not the right place for you.

  It is no problem to park a campervan, but it should not be too big because the access to our house is not wide enough - it is just a very narrow mountain road.
