We welcome and takes care of animals in need, providing them with a more dignified life. In the center of the cover picture you can see Carolina, a pony found abandoned by her owners after she got one of her legs amputated by a hunter's trap. After three years with us, she runs happily with her prosthetic leg. She is only one example, all our dogs, cats, horses, chickens, geese, and donkeys have troubled stories that they left behind

Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten
They will live a farm lifestyle in the centre of Italy. I require help in the morning. The usual activities are: feeding the animals, providing them care and cuddles). There is occasional repairing and fixing to do, shopping and cleaning the staples. For people interested in cultural activities we can plan and design together shows, events and festival. I sometimes work as a Theatrical author, my shows are mostly related to historical and traditional religious events.

I am looking for people to help me on the farm.
There's general help to do. Feeding the animals, cleaning the staples, some small building or repairing in the house.
It mostly depends on your skills!

I've got 3 beds in the farmhouse in a room with an external bathroom. And in another room with bunk beds and a bathroom.

I can provide basic Italian food.

I would ask you to bring a little bit of money for your extra food need (pizza, alcohol, candies, etc. etc.)
I am happy to share three meals per day.

We can eat together or, if you prefer, you can eat privately.
Sometimes I will cook, but sometimes I will ask you to cook, or we can cook together depending on the daily activities.

This farm is located on an enchanting hill (400 mt high) in central Umbria, in the province of Terni, between Acquasparta and Montecastrilli. It is made up of 20 hectares plus 18 hectares of wood. 5000 sm facilities: 1 horse stable with 9 horses and donkeys, a country house with an underground tavern, a big open space library, currently under reconstruction, one little Church, little stables for small animals, a big hall under reconstruction and many other areas and rooms used for different types of activity. Two big indoor fireplaces, one outdoor wood oven and barbecue. The farm is along a Roman road with artistic, cultural, archaeological, historical sites nearby.
The owner is a music composer and director of movies and musicals. We love people that like living peaceful days in contact with nature and with our animals (trained, docile, and used to kids).

Vom Workawayer (Renée) für Host

I stayed with Maura for 3 weeks, and halfway during my stay another volunteer arrived as well. Unfortunetely, Maura was in the hospital because of an accident when I arrived, and came home a few days after. In the meantime, her son welcomed me and showed me everything. I loved the farm and the animals, most of them had been rescued.
The work was… read more nice and not too heavy, it also helped we avoided working in the hot afternoons as much as possible. The farmwork mainly consisted of feeding the animals and bringing them outside/inside in the morning/evening. Besides this, we helped with groceries and did some gardening. All in all, the work was around 5 hours each day, we worked in the weekends as well. The work was spread troughout the day though, most of it in the morning, around lunchtime and in the evening.
Although this was nice, it meant that our free time was also spread troughout the day, but without a car it was not possible to visit any places in a short time. Maura also changed her mind about plans sometimes, which made it hard to plan things myeslf. Data worked but there was no wifi, so I mostly read books and listened to music in my free time. In the last week of my visit, Maura brought us to some nearby towns and villages, which were very beautiful!
The room we stayed in was nice, there was a bunk bed, couch and little table with 2 chairs. We had our own bathroom with sink, shower and squat toilet. (They had a 'normal' toilet as well, but we couldn't close the door of that room because it needed to be repaired.) In our room we also had a small stove, but I never used it because we alsways ate together.
The food was nice, a combination of traditional Italian food and some of her own recipes. Even though they ate meat, they made sure there was always vegan food for me. Sometimes we helped with cooking, and sometimes Maura would cook for us.
Communication wise, my Italian and Maura's English both weren't the best, but we were always able to understand eachother, sometimes with a little help from google translate ;). She could sound a bit commanding when telling us what needed to be done, but I think it was because of her limited English. When the other volunteer told her she wanted to leave early though, I got a bit scared by her angry reaction. She did apolagize for this later.
Even though some things were different than I expected, I am very grateful for my stay at Maura's farm! It is clear she wants the best for the animals in her care.
