The city is very lively and full of history and incredibly friendly and generous people. I stayed during Ramadan and was invited to many iftars with so much yummy food!
The situation in Palestine is definitely not easy but honestly you hardly notice it most days. I feel very safe walking around alone, even at night, even as a woman. I would highly recommend volunteering for them!

My volunteer duties during my stay included doing laundry, watering flowers, sweeping, etc. I volunteered for a total of 2.5 weeks.

The guys made barbecue on my second night, a huge feast for all the guests and staff and that was one of the best nights of my life in terms of cultural exchange and hospitality.
We ate, had long conversations around the fire, laughed all night long…
