Vom Host für Workawayer (Honoka)
Honoka stayed with us for 5 weeks in April and May 2025. She was a excellent workawayer and we were really sad to let her go. She was like part of our family.
She is a very kind ans gentle person, interesting to talk to and always ready to help. She is very organised; a fast learner and saw things which had to be done or when a hand is needed on

She helped us in the house, with cooking, cleaning and other household things. She helped in the garden and did weeding, watering, planting and harvesting. She was painting wood for a fence. Once we explained something, which she should do, she did it reliable on her own, correctly, accurate and always with a smile. She learned soon how to handle Rico our dog, who adopted her as part of the family right from the first moment.
She also took care for the quails, feeded them and gave them water. Honoka was a good companion also for family activities like hiking, visting cities and museums. She was always interested in learning about our culture and traditions.
It was a pleasure to host Honoka „san“. We wish her all the best for her future and hope, we meet again some time.

I had a great time with Reinhard, Sabine, and Rico.
I stayed with this lovely host family for one month, and it was a truly warm and unforgettable experience!
My main task was painting fences, which I enjoyed a lot.
They always cared about how I was doing and made sure I felt comfortable.
They explained many things to me — their church, local

Even though my English isn’t perfect, they always used simple words and listened to me with kindness and patience.
They also took me to beautiful places, and I even got to see a traditional Maypole festival for the first time.
Everything was so fun and meaningful!
This family is truly wonderful, and I hope to visit them again someday.
I can highly recommend them to anyone!
Thank you for everything:)

My experience staying with Reinhard and Sabine was a positive one. I learned a lot of woodworking skills from Reinhard, Sabine made lovely food and taught me about German history, and both were really patient and gracious in speaking German with me. … read more five stars. First, Reinhard and Sabine would sometimes argue while we were eating or driving together, which could make things uncomfortable. Second, I noticed toward the end of my stay that we were working six days a week instead of five. We never worked more than 25 hours per week, and I'm sure if I asked to switch to five days we would have. So not a big deal, I just recommend clarifying the work schedule upon arrival.
That said, I want to emphasize again that my stay was a positive one! Sabine and Reinhard were VERY generous with both their time and money, moreso than any other couple I know. They bought me a nice winter hat so I wouldn't be cold, helped me with getting an important prescription, went with me for a doctors visit, took me on lovely trips to nearby attractions... and that's just a few things. They went beyond their obligations as hosts, and really made me feel welcome and cared for.

Vom Host für Workawayer (Fabio)
Fabio stayed 4 weeks with us. He is a very polite and pleasant person. Fabio immediatelly integrated in our family and enriched our living together.
We could bring ahead our foreseen works by his engaged support. Fabio and our son Max got a good team in pouring concrete, doing woodworking and building up our stock of firewood. He also did

He was always interested in learning German. It was very astonishing for us how good his German was developped, knowing he never had German language at school. It was also no problem to communicate in English.
We wish Fabio all the best and can fully recommend him to other hosts. We hope to see Fabio once again.
Vom Workawayer (Fabio) für Host
My stay with Reinhard und Sabine was my first workaway experience, or I'd better say, my "eataway" experience. In fact the work load was really nothing in comparison with the time I spent with them visiting cities, going walking and, of course, eating at many typical restaurants nearby.
I will never forget our cultural trips, where Sabine was
… read more really kind to explain me everything about historical buildings and museums. Personally, I also appreciated her cinematography culture very much!
Reihnard's knowledge consists not only of engineering and gardening, but also in music: I loved listening to his Italian playlist in the car (in particular Laura Pausini's songs).
Max was the perfect work companion, very accurate in everything he does and always patient to teach me what to do in every situation.
And I'll miss naturally "der Kaiser vom Ende der Welt" Rico the Terrier, too.
As I've not studied German at school, my
language skills were pretty bad, but there was never misunderstanding because they could amazingly translate every single word in English, French and Italian as well!
As Reinhard said, probably after these four weeks I've gained 2 kilos of fat and 2 kilos of muscles: I'll let you know!
Thank you for everything, hope to see you all again in Germany (or in Italy).

Vom Host für Workawayer (Giada)
Giada was 5 1/2 weeks in our house during COVID-19. She integrated very well in our family spending most of the evenings with us. Sometimes we felt having an additional daughter. We liked her sympathetic nature, her laughing and her singing when she was working with the dust cleaner.

We can recommend her for other Workaway hosts and wish a good future to Giada. Grazie per tutto!

I couldn't ask for a first better workaway experience!

I had the amazing opportunity to immerse myself in the typical german life by eating local food and by visiting, before the lockdown, touristic places in the beautiful Bavaria.
I loved every moment spent with them, how close the family was, how caring and how willing they were to always teach me and show me something about the german culture and their sustainable life.
I appreciated a lot how patient they were with me despite my German not being perfect and even if I hadn't been the best cook.
I felt more than just a workawayer with them, I felt like a full-fledged family member and I hope I'll have the opportunity to meet them again!
Thank you for everything, it was an amazing experience and I'll always have a beautiful memories of this time!Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.
