  Hello everyone! My name is Mirko, and I live with my partner Giulia on the slopes of Mount Etna, in our house.
  I'm 36, a musician and a bit of a handyman, and Giulia is 26, and passionate about astrology and botany.
  A year and a half ago, we managed to realise our dream: having a house of our own with plenty of outdoor space, a place that allows us to follow a simpler rhythm, pursue our passions, and bring our projects to life.
  Our house is located in an area characterised by centuries-old olive trees and ancient lava flows, and we're also fortunate to be in a very scenic spot, from which we can admire Mount Etna and part of eastern Sicily, with its breathtaking sunsets, every day.
  Our family isn't just made up of our relatives, but also our wonderful friends, with whom we share wonderful moments, where music, food, and laughter are certainly never lacking.
  The idea of ​​Workaway entered our lives precisely thanks to these moments, during which we had the opportunity to meet some workawayers through wonderful days and long conversations. This experience fascinated us and gave us the opportunity to enrich our minds and spirits with the stories of people from around the world.
  Now that we have our place, we want to bring it to life.
  On this journey towards realizing our dreams, we would be very happy to open our home to you workawayers, who are excited about the exchange we can offer each other.

  Ciao a tutti! Il mio nome è Mirko e vivo insieme alla mia compagna Giulia alle pendici del vulcano Etna, nella nostra casa.
  Io ho 36 anni, sono un musicista e un po’ un tuttofare, Giulia ne ha 26, ed è appassionata di astrologia e botanica.
  Un anno e mezzo fa siamo riusciti a realizzare il nostro sogno: avere una casa tutta nostra con tanto spazio esterno, un luogo che ci permettesse di seguire ritmi più semplici, di dedicarci alle nostre passioni e dar vita ai nostri progetti.
  La nostra casa si trova in un’area caratterizzata dalla presenza di ulivi secolari e antiche colate laviche, e abbiamo anche la fortuna di trovarci in un punto molto panoramico, dal quale possiamo ammirare L’Etna e parte della Sicilia orientale, con i suoi tramonti mozzafiato, ogni giorno.
  Riguardo alla nostra famiglia, essa non è composta soltanto dai nostri parenti, ma anche dai nostri splendidi amici, con cui condividiamo momenti bellissimi, in cui la musica, il cibo e le risate, di certo, non mancano mai.
  L’idea di Workaway è entrata nelle nostre vite proprio grazie a questi momenti, tramite i quali abbiamo avuto la possibilità di conoscere alcuni workawayers condividendo giornate splendide e lunghe chiacchierate, esperienza che ci ha affascinato e dato l’opportunità di arricchire la nostra mente e il nostro spirito con le storie di personalità provenienti da tutto il mondo.
  Adesso che abbiamo il nostro posto, desideriamo rendere questo luogo vivo.
  In questo viaggio verso la realizzazione dei nostri sogni, ci renderebbe molto felici aprire la nostra casa a voi workawayers, entusiasti dello scambio che possiamo offrirci gli uni con gli altri.

  The kind of help we're looking for
  
  Since we moved here, Giulia and I have learned so many new things. We've tried our hand at tending the land and doing manual tasks we'd never done before, but in the end, we've always managed well.
  The help we're looking for from you is simple and part of our daily routine.
  Together, we'll take care of the olive trees, collect weeds, dead branches, and leaves—in short, keep the outdoor spaces tidy, and do small tasks around the house.
  We also have some special friends living with us: our chickens and our cat Mimí.
  Taking care of the animals is another small but important part of our routine that we'd be happy to share with you.
  As for future projects, we'd like to start a small synergistic vegetable garden for our own consumption, and we think it would be fun to help on it together, experimenting a little with the soil.
  Ultimately, one of the reasons that drove us to move here was the opportunity to focus on self-production, so we could meet our own needs and have a small amount of natural products to give to our friends, including you!
  We'll always plan our activities together, based on each of our needs, in a relaxed atmosphere.
  Besides helping you, we also want you to explore the area where we live, accompanying you to the places we love most, hoping to make you fall in love with our Sicily as much as we do.

  Il tipo di aiuto che cerchiamo
  
  Da quando siamo venuti ad abitare qui, io e Giulia abbiamo imparato tantissime cose nuove. Ci siamo cimentati nella cura del terreno e in lavori manuali che non avevamo mai fatto prima, ma alla fine ce la siamo sempre cavata bene.
  L'aiuto che cerchiamo da parte vostra è semplice e rientra in quella che è la nostra quotidianità.
  Ci occuperemo insieme di curare gli ulivi, raccogliere erbacce, rami secchi e foglie, insomma di tenere in ordine gli spazi esterni, e di piccoli lavori di manutenzione della casa.
  Insieme a noi vivono anche delle amiche speciali, le nostre galline e la nostra gattina Mimí.
  Occuparsi degli animali è un’altra piccola ma importante parte della nostra routine che saremo felici di condividere con voi.
  Per quel che riguarda i progetti futuri, ci piacerebbe dar vita ad un piccolo orto sinergico per il nostro autoconsumo e pensiamo che sarebbe bello lavorarci insieme sperimentando un po’ con la terra.
  In fondo, uno dei motivi che ci ha spinti a venire ad abitare qui è stata proprio la possibilità di mirare all’auto produzione in modo da poter far fronte al nostro consumo, e avere una piccola quantità di prodotti naturali da regalare ai nostri amici, compresi voi!
  Il programma delle cose da fare lo sceglieremo sempre insieme, in base alle necessità di ognuno di noi, in totale relax.
  A parte l’aiuto, ci teniamo anche farvi esplorare il territorio in cui abitiamo, accompagnandovi nei luoghi che amiamo di più, sperando di farvi innamorare della nostra Sicilia così come lo siamo noi.

  Unterkunft

  We'll host you in our guesthouse, equipped with all the amenities you need to make you feel comfortable and at home. Inside, you'll find a double bed, a sofa bed, a private bathroom with shower, and a kitchen, although we'd mostly like to share our meals with you. We care deeply about our home, so we ask that you take the utmost care and cleanliness of the space you'll be sharing. We usually have breakfast, lunch, and dinner together, but of course, everyone is free to follow their own needs and habits, so there's no problem if you prefer to eat at a different time or have a snack during the day. Giulia and I can prepare the three main meals; however, our kitchen and the food in the house will always be available to anyone staying with us. We'll take care of the weekly food shopping, organizing it together to meet everyone's tastes and needs. If workawayers need to go to the local supermarket for special needs or extra expenses, we'll be available to accompany them.

  Vi ospiteremo nella nostra depandance, fornita di tutti i comfort necessari per farvi stare comodi e sentirvi a casa. All’interno avrete letto matrimoniale, divano letto, bagno privato con doccia e cucina, anche se per lo più ci piacerebbe condividere i nostri pasti insieme a voi.
  Teniamo molto alla nostra casa, perciò vi chiediamo massima cura e pulizia dello spazio che vivrete.
  
  La nostra abitudine di solito è quella di fare colazione, pranzare e cenare insieme ma, naturalmente, ognuno sarà libero di seguire le proprie esigenze ed abitudini, quindi non c’è alcun problema se si preferisce mangiare in un momento diverso o si ha voglia di uno spuntino durante la giornata.
  Per la preparazione dei 3 pasti principali possiamo pensarci io e Giulia, in ogni caso la nostra cucina e il cibo presente in casa rimarranno sempre a completa disposizione di chiunque sia ospite da noi.
  Del costo della spesa alimentare settimanale ce ne occuperemo noi, la organizzeremo tutti insieme così da venire incontro ai gusti e alle esigenze di tutti, se i workawayes avranno poi bisogno di raggiungere il supermercato di zona per esigenze particolari o spese extra, ci renderemo disponibili ad accompagnarli.
