Help us with home renovation, DIY and gardening in the middle of the Danish peninsula in Hampen, Denmark

  Beschreibung

  We are Tonka (28) and Ivan (30) from Croatia, living in Denmark.
  
  We bought an almost 100 years old house that needs a lot of love to get in a good shape ;)
  
  There is also a big backyard where we are starting a garden this year.
  
  The location is absolutely beautiful, a small city where people sometimes ride horses on the streets, very quiet and relaxing area with a lot of forests and nature. There is a big lake only 1.5 km away and another one a little bit further away.
  
  German border is around 1.5 hours away, if you would like to visit Germany.
  
  There are opportunities for camping, kayaking, bike riding or visiting bigger cities - Horsens, Silkeborg, Vejle and Herning are all around 30 minutes drive and Aarhus (the second biggest city in Denmark) is 50 minutes away.

  You can learn about Croatia and Denmark, taste a lot of delicious food 🤤, both salty and sweet (Tonka is a great cook).
  
  Our mother tongue is croatian, but we speak also english and danish, so there is an opportunity to practice a language.
  
  Ivan plays piano and guitar. He also sings and produces music. There is a small music studio in the house, so if you are a musician or someone interested in learning to play an instrument or sing, you are welcome 😁
  
  If you would like to move to Denmark, we can also help you with that. We moved here after staying with a host that we found on this site 🙂

  Arbeit

  We are looking for people who have experience with construction, drywall, plastering, carpentry, masonry or gardening, but if you don't have any experience you are still welcome to write to us, because we can also benefit from somebody who can do general maintenance like moving things, cutting grass or trees or other usual stuff.
  
  Things we would prefer to do in a close future:
  - repairing cracks on outside walls of the house
  - replace subflooring in the house and put new floors
  - replace some windows and doors
  - insulate upper floor and ceiling
  - new tiles on bathroom floor and walls
  - start a garden
  - many more ;)

  Unterkunft

  You will stay in a heated cabin in the backyard (check the photos on our profile), with two beds (queen-size + single-size) and other furniture. There is also a toilet.
  
  Shower and kitchen are in the house and shared with us.
  
  We are providing all the food for our guests. They are also welcome to prepare some food for us if they would like to. :)
  
  There will be mostly mediterranean, balkan and scandinavian inspired meals, maybe some thai or something else. Tonka loves to discover and try new recipes all the time, so the guests shouldn't be too picky. It would be the best to write us if you have some special diet so we can see if that can work with us.

  Was noch ...

  If you are flying to Denmark, we can pick you up at the Billund airport, and drive you back when you'll be leaving.
  
  Working hours or days are not fixed, it depends about the things you will do. Maybe you can work a little bit more some days and then have a few days of, or work more days but only a couple of hours per day, but don't worry, you will have a lot of free time. We don't expect too much work cause relaxing, hanging out and new experiences are also important ;)
