  Hi Workawayers!
  I'm searching for 2 volunteers to help starting October 25th, for 7-10 days, with the olive harvest.
  
  I'm planning to host multiple people to make a nice team, the last time I hosted was back in 2019 and 2024, and they were such great experiences!
  
  I'm 29 and grew up between Tuscany and Umbria, two regions I love deeply. These days I live in Ghent, Belgium, where I work as a Bioprocess Engineer. I've been in the role since 2023, and I'm genuinely motivated by it because I get to do good things for the environment. But sometimes I also want to come back, take care of my land, and help my mum. For me, this harvest is also a way to stay connected to my roots.
  
  My family has a big farmhouse with a large olive grove, almost 300 trees. October and November are harvest time: we pick the olives by hand and take them to the closest mill, where I'll walk you through the whole process of turning olives into fresh, natural olive oil. As a Bioprocess Engineer, I find this part especially fascinating — the downstream processing (pressing, separation, filtration) is really where the magic happens, and I love explaining it in simple terms.
  This is an experience I always shared with my grandparents growing up. Now that they're no longer with us, I've realized how lucky I was to have all this, and I want to keep the tradition alive with my mum, my brother and my aunt, and share it with anyone who'd like to join us.
  What we're looking for:
  
  You don't need any experience, we'll teach you everything as we go. It's fun, but can be tiring at times, so we're looking for people who enjoy working outdoors as part of a team. We'll work in the groves whenever the weather allows.
  
  What we offer:

  Lots of pasta (my mum makes homemade pasta in 30 minutes!) and great food in general, she's happy to teach you her recipes.
  Evenings spent cooking together and enjoying the simple Italian life
  Trips to some of the nicest spots in Umbria and Tuscany. Every year I host, I discover more of my own land, so I can't wait to explore it together again.

  Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten

  I am a good cook, italian recipe are so good and I am always looking forward teaching them to everyone interested! My mum and my grandma are my teachers. We will for sure make some homemade pasta with my mum.
  
  Near my town there are a lot of beautiful place to visit, and easily reachable: Perugia, Assisi, Trasimeno Lake, Tuscany (Montepulciano, Val D'orcia, Siena, Arezzo..). We will also visit together places on the area, during free time/evenings.
  
  There are many activities to do in my area and I am always willing to share my favourite spots. Everytime I host workawayers I do love to visit new places and go with the flow. If you want to visit something in particular or do a certain activity I will be for sure down.
