REPLY RATE IS POOR AS HAVE BEEN OF WORKAWAY FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS, BACK AGAIN NOW!!!
We are currently looking for helpers as the harvest season begins. we are about to start in the first week of November with Chestnut harvesting, but there are always tasks to do on the land and in the home. You will be helping Jeannie in the kitchen, and joining our sons Jago and Charlie when there is stuff to do on the farm; at any time of year it could be maintenance jobs, cleaning around the pool, weeding the veggie patch, helping us maintain buildings.
We are currently establishing a permaculture system of raised straw beds down the valley, where Oscar and Dani are hoping to establish a market garden business.
While out on the farm you will need some stout boots and shorts are fine or jeans if you are in tall undergrowth. IN the evenings, around the table when we eat together it would be great if you had a change of tidier clothes.
Other jobs we like to get our teeth into at this time of year are painting and preparing rooms against winter damp and summer heat.....so previous experience and skill with sandpaper and a paintbrush is always a boon. General gardening skills are also welcome as we prepare the flower beds and vegetable patches.
Jeannie and Sam came from the UK to live in Spain in the early 80's and have been living here on the chestnut and cork farm, with organic vegetable garden and holiday cottages for around 30 years now. Jago returned from the UK to run the farming side of the business, and to help with guests, but we can always do with extra hands around the place! We also keep some sheep, hens and pigs.
Jeannie gives cooking classes at certain times of year, and we have just published our cookbook, available on Amazon.

You will learn about living in a beautiful rural environment, meet people from all over the world, and enjoy the local Spanish life.
We run a 120 acre forest of chestnuts and cork oaks, and keep pigs, sheep and hens; and two holiday cottages, each with a small swimming pooland we offer cookery classes from time to time.
In summer we eat in the courtyard and our cottage guests are welcome to join us. In winter we are tucked up in the main house.
Our helpers join us for lunch every day and have the afternoon off. Sometimes we need a bit of help serving the evening meal to cottage guests if they are coming in.
English, French, German, italian, Spanish
It depends on the time of year and how busy we are. In winter our helpers will be lodged in one of our cottages. We all have lunch together every day in the main house, and ingredients for breakfast and supper will be provided in the cottage, where you have a well equipped kitchen.
If cottages are full, then you might be staying in one of the rooms in the main house, and in summer, in the helpers accomodation by the poolhouse.
Our farm lies at the heart of a nature park in the Sierra de Aracena. There are beautiful walks, linking the many small pueblos. You may borrow one of the mountain bikes.
Aracena our local town, is lively and there are many young people anxious to practice their English, so you could do one to one conversational exchange. You can rent e-bikes in town if you want to cover a greater area within the Nature Park, or go riding, or meet young people for language exchange.
There is a daily service by bus to Seville, which is about 75 minutes away.
