Welcome to the Association! We are a community-based cultural organization in El Salvador with over 32 years of experience, using art as a tool for social transformation. From our Cultural Center, located in the district of San Antonio Los Ranchos, Chalatenango, we develop theater, music, dance, community film, and arts education programs with children, youth, women, and senior citizens from rural communities.
Our residence is a vibrant space for human exchange, learning, and community life. In previous years, volunteers from different countries have participated, supporting art workshops, educational activities, audiovisual production, communication, home gardens, maintenance of cultural spaces, and participation in community events and festivals. More than a traditional volunteer experience, it becomes an opportunity to connect with Salvadoran culture, live in community, and be part of real social processes driven by art and community engagement.
The association especially values the exchange of knowledge, new ideas, and intercultural experiences that volunteers bring. Those who visit the residency collaborate on community projects and build human connections, learn about the history and resilience of Salvadoran communities, and become part of an artistic network committed to social change.

Somos una organización cultural comunitaria de El Salvador con más de 32 años de trayectoria, utilizando el arte como herramienta de transformación social. Desde nuestro Centro Cultural, ubicado en el distrito de San Antonio Los Ranchos, Chalatenango, desarrollamos procesos de teatro, música, danza, cine comunitario y formación artística junto a niñas, niños, jóvenes, mujeres y personas adultas mayores de comunidades rurales.
Nuestra residencia es un espacio vivo de intercambio humano, aprendizaje y convivencia comunitaria. En años anteriores, personas voluntarias de diferentes países han participado apoyando talleres artísticos, actividades educativas, producción audiovisual, comunicación, huertos caseros, mantenimiento de espacios culturales y acompañamiento en eventos y festivales comunitarios. Más que una experiencia de voluntariado tradicional, se convierte en una oportunidad para conectar con la cultura salvadoreña, convivir en comunidad y formar parte de procesos sociales reales impulsados desde el arte y la participación comunitaria.
Se valora especialmente el intercambio de conocimientos, las nuevas ideas y las experiencias interculturales que las personas voluntarias aportan. Quienes visitan la residencia colaboran en proyectos comunitarios y construyen vínculos humanos, aprenden sobre la historia y resiliencia de las comunidades salvadoreñas y forman parte de una red artística comprometida con el cambio social.

At our residence, you'll experience cultural exchanges with Salvadoran artists and people from rural communities.
We invite you to participate in training programs within the Association, and through daily interaction, you can improve and practice your Spanish.
Here, you'll have the opportunity to learn about Salvadoran history and connect with our friendly community. You can also visit recreational areas and take walks in a tranquil, natural setting.

En nuestra residencia, experimentarás intercambios culturales con artistas y personas salvadoreñas de comunidades rurales.
Les invitamos a participar en procesos de formación dentro de la Asociación y través de la convivencia cotidiana puedes mejorar y practicar su idioma español.
En este espacio, tienes la oportunidad de conocer la memoria histórica salvadoreña y compartir con nuestra amable comunidad. Asimismo, podrás visitar espacios de recreación y hacer caminatas en un ambiente lleno de naturaleza salvaje y tranquilidad.
Arbeit
In our space, we welcome volunteers who wish to contribute their knowledge and experience in the following areas:
1. Organization of cultural events, festivals, and community activities: Support in the planning, logistics, and development of festivals, artistic performances, community gatherings, and cultural activities with youth, children, and rural communities.
2. Artistic and sociocultural training: Individuals interested in sharing knowledge in theater, dance, music, painting, murals, popular education, or community work through workshops and creative processes with diverse groups.
3. Maintenance of the Cultural Center and Residence facilities: Support in the care, cleaning, painting, gardening, and improvement of the Cultural Center's spaces to maintain a suitable and welcoming environment for visitors and communities.
4. Marketing, photography, and social media: Collaboration in the creation of digital content, photographic coverage of activities, social media management, and promotion of the organization's artistic and community work.
5. Graphic and audiovisual design: Support in the creation of posters, visual materials, video editing, audiovisual production, and creative content for cultural and community projects.
6. Project development. We are looking for individuals with an interest in or experience with proposal writing, fundraising, report writing, and strengthening social and cultural initiatives. We are excited to welcome you and collaborate with you on your proposals and ideas.

En nuestro espacio recibimos voluntarios/as que desean aportar desde sus conocimientos y experiencias en las áreas de trabajo siguientes:
1. Organización de eventos culturales, festivales y actividades comunitarias:
Apoyo en la planificación, logística y desarrollo de festivales, presentaciones artísticas, encuentros comunitarios y actividades culturales con jóvenes, niñez y comunidades rurales.
2. Formación artística y sociocultural:
Personas interesadas en compartir conocimientos en teatro, danza, música, pintura, murales, educación popular o trabajo comunitario mediante talleres y procesos creativos con diferentes grupos.
3. Mantenimiento de las instalaciones del Centro Cultural y Residencia:
Apoyo en el cuidado, limpieza, pintura, jardinería y mejora de los espacios del Centro Cultural para mantener un ambiente adecuado y acogedor para visitantes y comunidades.
4. Marketing, fotografía y redes sociales.
Colaboración en la creación de contenido digital, cobertura fotográfica de actividades, manejo de redes sociales y difusión del trabajo artístico y comunitario de la organización.
5. Diseño gráfico y audiovisuales.
Apoyo en la elaboración de afiches, materiales visuales, edición de video, producción audiovisual y contenido creativo para proyectos culturales y comunitarios.
6. Formulación de proyectos.
Personas con interés o experiencia en redacción de propuestas, búsqueda de financiamiento, elaboración de informes y fortalecimiento de iniciativas sociales y culturales.

Unterkunft
Our facilities include shared rooms, showers and bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a laundry area.
We also have a library, workspaces, and rehearsal rooms.
We don't currently offer meals, but we occasionally cook and share meals with workers. However, meals are provided for activities and events.

En nuestras instalaciones contamos con habitaciones compartidas, duchas y baños, cocina equipada y área de lavandería.
También contamos con una biblioteca, espacios de trabajo y salas de ensayo.
En este momento no ofrecemos alimentación pero ocasionalmente se cocina y se comparte en conjunto con los trabajadores. Sin embargo, en las actividades y eventos si se proporciona la alimentación.

This space guarantees an environment free from violence and discrimination. We prefer that Workaway volunteers have an intermediate level of Spanish, but we are open to teaching during this exchange.
