  Beschreibung

  Olá! We are a family of 4, myself, the children (7 and 11 years old) and our dog.
  We are holding a place in a mix of rural and already suburban area. We wish to transform the place into a little sanctuary of wildlife (butterflies, insects, birds), to create as much abundance of food as possible in a 1000m2 garden with permaculture principles, to inspire the surroundings, and restore the houses with eco-building and Earthships principles.
  
  This summer we would love to create some holistic events to accumulate more knowledge on this thematics so the dream can become reality in a sustainable way and also create a stronger network with other groups and people working on regenerative practices in the area around. !Permaculture Activism!
  
  As a family we relate very much with the principles of Unschooling, Self-Direct Learning, traveling as a way for the kids learn new skills, develop social and emotional resilience.
  "It takes a village to raise a child" and that is exactly what we learn with permaculture: the variety brings a healthier and resilient garden. That applies to kids very well and so I'm Very motivated to facilitate an environment where the kids can meet as many different people as possible and take part in the real life actions.
  
  Our wish would be that this place become somehow alive trough all the year, independent of who is here or not, and becoming a place to inspire some change and regeneration in the area and also a safe place for travelers to stop and rest and make Friends!!!!
  
  We are a Rainbow Family and so for us is very much about Sharing <3

  We are close to very old and interesting cities such as Guimarães, Porto, Barcelos and Braga in which a lot of interesting places can be visited and in where you can find quite an interesting cultural activity as concerts, theater, etc.
  Also we are close to 2 Natural Reserves, one is in the coast and other is the Mountains of Gerês and both I will very happy to show or even you Could Use the car of the house for it.

  Arbeit

  We are jus starting so there is a big range of possibilities and so you have the chance to choose what you relate in general and also following your mood in the day. We want you happy and connected with your mission during your stay. You are welcome to bring your own ideas and skills.
  
  Here you can find some examples of tasks:
  
  - General maintenance around the house. The main ruin has around 200 years.
  - Keeping the house clean and tidy.
  - Taking care of the exterior patio and create vegetable garden.
  - Shopping value to price healthy groceries.
  - Cooking family meals.
  - Teaching kids new skills.
  - Help create different projects to be hosted on the site: permaculture, eco-building, regenerative practices, holistic events, free education...
  -join once a week the teenage gathering where you can meet very cool families, learn new skills and even propose an activity! And if you have kids that could fit on this activities they will be very welcome :)
  
  During all the summer we have in our village the season of picking up blueberries in which I join. It's all very flexible so that can also be an opportunity specially for Families, couples, friends traveling together.

  Unterkunft

  - A room with 2 single beds and wardrobe in the family house (bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, washing machine)
  - There's a place for 1 campervan
  - If you want more privacy, you can also camp in the garden
  - There's also the possibility for you to take the abandoned house, if you are motivated to clean it. It will be the workawayers/guests' house in the future anyway. --> This can also be your mission!

  - Up to 10 min walking from Lousado Train Station.
  - Less than 10 min away by car from supermarket Lidl (there are more options). There are other small local markets within walking distance.
  - Weekly fairs from local farmers.
  - Around 20 km away from several cities, such as Porto, Braga, Barcelos, Guimarães, Santo Tirso...
  - Up to 10 min from Famalicão city centre.
  - Take nature walks in the forest next to the site.
