We are a vibrant, heart centered Christian community, operating a small health retreat with 3 bedrooms, where people from all around the world come to restore their mental, physical and spiritual health. We work, live and eat from abundant, organic gardens spread out over beautiful terraces, surrounded by a wonderful river with a waterfall and many secluded places to find peace and tranquility.
Although our gardens have been well established over 16 years we are still learning, growing and evolving with the intention for the garden to go from sustaining our own meals to taking beautiful, nourishing organic produce to market.
The health center is based around natural medicine and biblical principles. We offer complete detox programs and treat a whole range of conditions.
We are very open minded and welcome individuals from all walks of life and faith, just a common interest of a need to be kind, loving and serving others is appreciated :)
We love to sing and play music and enjoy each other’s company in nature. There are plenty of opportunities for walks, talks, swimming and relaxing. This is a quiet place with a simple life, it is not action packed but come and see for yourself the benefits of this kind of living- how joyful, peaceful and rejuvenating it can be. We often pray together and this is very much part of our healing work.

We are about to begin a new project. A former volunteer is now responsible of our gardens, and during this season (2020), our goal is to begin selling vegetable boxes (CSA – Community Supported Agriculture) and go to Farmer’s Markets.
We are looking for volunteers who are already introduced to or experienced in Market Gardening or simply just having a passion or interest in garden practices. We will be able to teach and guide you out of our best knowledge.
We like you to stay for a minimum of four weeks, so you have sufficient time to settle in and learn different practices. We are especially looking for long terms (2-3 month or longer). You would have the opportunity to get fixed responsibilities according to your skills.

Due to the great fire of June 2017 we are able to offer for the men only a shelter, a room that is shared with 3-4 men because all our caravans have been burned. The ladies are sleeping in a dorm, shared with 4-5 ladies. You can also pitch your own tents in the woods.
We cannot accommodate couples and families.
We accept volunteers throughout the year, always from the beginning of a month, in Central Portugal.
Sorry no internet access at this time, only at the library in town 14 km away by your own transportation or taxi.
People with experience in volunteering are welcome and also those who may need to experiment something different and perhaps better. We have over 30 years of experience in this kind of work, you will just love it.
