Beschreibung
We are Santiago, Agostina, and Esmeralda. We are also Pita, Beto, and Kurt, a multi-species family living in Villa Lago Meliquina, a mountain village 40 kilometers from San Martín de Los Andes. In addition to living and working here, we also welcome tourists who want to experience this Patagonian paradise. Our goal is to beautify the place and make it a warmer and more welcoming place.

Somos Santiago, Agostina y Esmeralda. También somos Pita, Beto y Kurt, una familia multiespecie que vive en Villa Lago Meliquina, una aldea de Montaña a 40 kilómetros de San Martín de Los Andes. Además de vivir y trabajar acá, también recibimos a turistas que quieren conocer este paraiso patagónico. Nuestra idea es embellece el lugar y que sea un sitio más cálido y acogedor.

You will experience the everyday life of a mountain village: calm mornings, sunsets by the lake, and conversations around the campfire. Bring your stories; we’ll share ours. We have traveled through Central America and also have plenty of anecdotes to tell. We enjoy meeting people very different from us, learning about their life stories and projects.

Vas a vivir la vida cotidiana de un pueblo de montaña: mañanas tranquilas, atardeceres en el lago y charlas junto a la fogata. Traé tus historias; nosotros ponemos las nuestras. Hemos viajado por Centroamérica y tenemos también anécdotas que compartir. Nos gusta conocer personas muy ajenas a nosotros, sus historias de vida y proyectos.

Arbeit
We are getting the property ready for the season. You can help with:
• Organizing and beautifying the grounds (gardening, cleaning, small leveling)
• Pruning trees, making cuttings, compost work
• Stacking firewood
• Painting, small repairs, general maintenance
• Other small projects that may come up
No experience is required: we’ll teach you. The most important thing is good energy, teamwork, and the willingness to learn.

Estamos dejando el terreno lindo para la temporada. Podés ayudar en:
• Orden y embellecimiento del terreno (jardinería, limpieza, pequeñas nivelaciones)
• Poda de árboles, hacer esquejes, trabajo de compost
• Acomodar leña
• Pintura, arreglos simples, mantenimiento general
• Otros proyectos chicos que vayan surgiendo
No hace falta experiencia: te enseñamos. Lo importante es la buena onda, el trabajo en equipo y las ganas de aprender.

What we offer

• Work hours and length of stay to be agreed upon, so it feels balanced and relaxed
It's a cozy cabin. It has one bathroom and one bedroom with a double bed. The living room has room for another single bed. The house has a refrigerator, hot water, a kitchen with an oven, complete kitchen utensils, Wi-Fi, a TV with HDMI connection to a PC, and a wood-burning stove. Outside, there's a covered area with a table for enjoying the outdoors.
We offer lodging, a cabin for 2-3 people with a full kitchen, bathroom, hot water, a refrigerator, and Wi-Fi. We don't provide meals; that's the volunteers' responsibility. We're looking for a work exchange of 4-5 hours a day. There are several stores in town to stock up on food, fruits, and vegetables. We can also help with transportation when we go to San Martín de los Andes for the weekly shopping.
The cabin where we live and the one where the volunteers will stay are dedicated to tourism during the summer season. That's why we want to keep the property in good condition so we can receive tourists every summer.
At the cabin, I can offer you fruits and vegetables, cereals, teas, and coffee. My goal for the exchange is to work no more than 3 hours a day and 15 hours a week.

Info práctica
• Mejores meses: octubre–noviembre (y otras fechas a convenir)
• Horarios y tiempo de estadía a acordar para que sea equilibrado y relajado
Es una cabaá cómoda y confortable. Tiene un baño y una habitación con cama matrimonial. En el living entra una cama más individual. La casa tiene heladera, agua caliente, cocina con horno, utencillos de cocina completos, WiFi, televisor para conectar pc mediante HDMI y estufa a leña. Por fuera tiene un sector bajo techo con mesa para disfrutar al aire libre.
Nosotros ofrecemos hospedaje, una cabaña para 2/3 personas con cocina completa, baño completo, agua caliente, heladera y wifi. No ofrecemos comida; eso corre por cuenta de los voluntarios. Buscamos un intercambio de trabajo de entre 4/5 horas diarias. En el pueblo hay varios almacenes para abastecerse de comidas, frutas y verduras. También nosotros podemos ayudar con el traslado cuando vayamos a San Martín de los Andes a hacer compras semanales.
La cabaña donde vivimos y en la que se hospedarán los voluntarios, están dedicadas al turismo durante la temoprada de verano. Por eso queremos poner el predio en buenas condiciones para poder recibir turistas de cada al verano.
En la cabaña puedo ofrecerles frutas y verduras, cereales, infuciones y café. Mi intención por el intercambio es no trabajar más de 3 horas al día y 15 horas a la semana.

Meliquina is a self-sufficient town, with no public services. We supply everything ourselves. Water comes from a stream, energy is provided by solar and wind, and there's no waste collection or natural gas. Therefore, living in Meliquina is a constant learning experience to take care of what nature gives us every day.

Meliquina es un pueblo autosustentable, donde no tenemos ningun tipo de servicio público. Todo nos lo abastecemos por nuestros propios medios. El agua llega de un arroyo, la enegía es solar y eólica, no hay recolección de residuos ni gas natural. Por eso, vivir la experiencia en Meliquina es un aprendisaje constante para cuidar lo que la naturaleza nos regala día a día.
