I spend my first workaway experience with Max and Marta and their two cuddly dogs and cat. I have had a great time on Langeland with them. I stayed for four weeks and helped them with all kinds of tasks. Cleaning, cooking, refurnishing a room, chopping wood, mowing, walking the dogs, feeding the chickens, gardening and helping out with their
… read more rentals. Besides the new experiences from the work, I have gained many new experiences by Marta and Max showing me around on Langeland and surroundings, meeting their friends and Max taking me with him to the shooting range.
Besides all the fun, there were also some tougher times in adjusting and communication. Especially because there was no WiFi in my room, it was quite difficult to retreat myself and give Marta and Max their own time as well. Neither of us told the other about the struggle, which led to a strange tension sometimes. I definitely recommend setting up a good WiFi connection in this room for future workawayers. This household works with schedules, which are good for knowing what is expected of you. Sometimes it was a bit tough for me to adjust because I am not used to daily schedules and a strict dinner time. Whenever it would turn out a bit different than the schedule said, I felt bad for not keeping myself to the schedule and disappointing them.

Frederieke was our first Workaway guest for this year and the 3rd one since we have started receiving Workaway guests in 2020.
She is a very outgoing, social, and full of energy person. Able to adapt and help in all the tasks we have requested from her. We would definitely recommend her to be part of a family that needs an all-day around help and
… read more for us(working full time), sometimes challenging at the beginning to find tasks while we were away.
The communication overall was very good, but sometimes we didn't manage to align what we expected and she either requested an extra explanation to what she needed to do. Due to the low internet connection in her private room, Frederieke spent most of the time with us, and we enjoyed that, but sometimes we would have needed a little more private time.
Overall, during the 4 weeks of her stay with us, we accomplished many of the planned tasks and plus another extra.
We were satisfied with the help we have received and for our future guests and also hosts that will receive Frederieke, I would recommend setting clear expectations and throw rules before starting the experience.

I had a very nice time in Bagenkop in Marta and Max's house.
They are very nice and friendly people and have told and shown me a lot about the island and the surroundings (very beautiful places and sea and beach) in which they live.
My tasks were little things like walking the dogs, cooking, feeding the chickens and rabbits, chopping wood or

Alisa was our second guest with Workaway. She was very open to help us and be part of our house. We were very satisfied with all she has helped us with.
We agreed from the beginning for how long she will stay with us, but due to some changes/Corona situation, she left a bit earlier than we expected. For us, it would have been very nice to stay

But overall we would definitely recommend Alisa to be accepted in any household as she is very nice and up for helping.

Rebecka was our first Workaway guest. We have received her due to the fact that her initial host had Positive for Corona. Initially, we agreed that she will stay for 2 weeks, but meanwhile, she has decided to visit the initial host.

… read more Denmark to use her holidays and travel around. For us, this was totally fine, but we felt that she couldn't help us very much with the households we needed.
Before we will accept our next Workaway, we would need to set more expectations towards the stay duration, the skills we need for the house duties, and what the guest expects from us too.
Overall, Rebecka was a nice guest, but I would suggest having clearer expectations for what needs to be done during the stay.Feedback
