First of all: if your thinking about staying at Vicky and Marc’s place do it! They truly could not have offered us a better Workaway experience.
I think the fact that we were supposed to stay for 10days but ended up staying for 50days speaks for itself😅

Marc’s family was also very nice and showed us great hospitality! and a special thank you also to Ana, and Drika who showed us how to make Brigadeiros ☺️
The work we did was a number of different tasks revolving around the renovation of their apartment such as working with drywall, plaster, sanding, painting, connecting outlets and a number of other things. In general the work was very varied and we learned a ton (!) it is great for anyone looking to pick up some practical skills that will serve you well later in life!
The work hours are very fair and you are never overworked!
In your free time you can walk into the city center of Palafrugell, that’s only a 5min walk from the apartment, that hosts a number of different bars and restaurants and is always very lively.
You can also borrow bikes from Vicky and Marc with which the beach is only a 15min ride away!
My biggest recommendation would be to hike along the coast on a clear day!
You can take busses from a bus station that’s right next to the house that drive to all the surrounding coastal towns as well as the medieval Catalan towns nestled in the pre-Pyrenees. Bigger cities like Girona and of course Barcelona are also easily reachable by bus! We drove into Barcelona three times and I would definitely recommend! it is the perfect Workaway experience!
All in all we really enjoyed staying here and want to thank Vicky and Marc again for their hospitality and the opportunity to experience life on the Costa Brava! We will definitely visit again!

… read more the start. Working in their place is pleasant and easy. Apart from that Palafrugell is a wonderful place and it allows you to discover spanish coasts, the views there are breathtaking. We could use their bikes to explore more and more:)

Marc, Vicky and Blai are very welcoming! We spent a week with the little family and two other Brazilian volunteers and we felt at ease! The work was interesting and rewarding, we would have liked to stay a little longer and participate in the progress of the work but we had to continue our journey. My first Workaway experience it’s being amazing!
I am very happy cause in addition to learning a new language and a lot of things helping in the renovation of Vic, Marc and baby Blai's new apartment, I am being very well received and cared by this family that I already feel a part of.
Our hosts are very willing to teach, interested in cultural exchanges, respectful, dedicated to showing us the culture, history and beauties of Palafrugell and a lot of places nearby.
Besides, they care a lot about our well-being and comfort.
