Hi I´m Joyce. As a family we feel so happy to have the opportunity to enjoy this cultural exchanged. Since 5 years ago, we were spending wonderful moments with volunteers from all over the world. The best thing is that now volunteers are still continue being our friends :)
Here in Iquitos, we usually go to many different places with the volunteers in orden to enjoy time together and also to show them our beautiful Amazon Jungle. Also, when we are at home, we love to cook and share recipes from our countries.
The main reason I do this cultural exchange is to encourage my children to practice their english. The best of all is that they speak and learn english in a very fun and natural way.
Now I have 3 children (Juan Diego, 9 years old; Alberto, 5 years old and Fabrizio, 3 years old). My boys are excellent hosts. My children are very kind and super friendly. Actually, they ask me to bring volunteers at home, because they really enjoy this experience.
Our home is located in Iquitos (Peruvian Amazon). Our house is a peaceful and beautiful place rounded by trees. We also have a big swimming pool, big yard and five rooms.
You will be amazed by the wonderful Amazon jungle!

In Iquitos, Peru we have many things to learn about Peruvian culture. We have many native communities that you can visit and experiences our ways. Peru is know for it's Top gastronomic destination. In Iquitos you can experiences the wild and rivers of the Amazon.

There are many places to visit during the day and weekends. We are 10min from downtown. Iquitos is not a very big city so everything will be near. The nature and the Amazon river are just amazing!!! You will love the experience of sailing on the river. You can also visit wonderful natural reserves like Pacaya Samaria.
