It was my first workaway experience and initially I was a bit apprehensive but Coral had been enthusiastically organising for my arrival till the end.
It was the time of flood and I was in Gold Coast and Coral did all the logistics with her friend to bring me over to Inge's place.

… read more special woman who is straightforward and funny. I enjoyed helping her in her house, and living there was easy.
Coral has been very active in the Flood Relief in Lismore and we had a fulfilling time helping out.
Oh yes and we would never go hungry with them :)
Roland is easy going and we had a good ride for sight-seeing (post flood). And not forgetting fun time with the Alpacas!

I had the chance to meet this great family, I stayed with Coral, Inga's daughter. Who really welcomed me warm hearted from the beginning. Coral is friendly and helpful and opens her house for her family, friends, students and workaways and serves delicious meals. I liked working for Coral. It was a pleasure to host Lenka and Michal. They were very hard working and friendly. Inge enjoyed their company and Lenka's attention to detail in cleaning windows was commendable.
Roland and Inge wish them all the very best in their travels and would thoroughly recommend them to any other hosts.

The best place and family! :) It was such a wonderful experience to stay one month at Inge´s place. The work was more fun than anything hard. We usually helped in the garden, around the house, with cooking and with some basic things. Every day there was time for our own activities and they took us for many beutiful trips around Alstonville. We
… read more visited for few times the close beaches, some national park, nice town Nimbin, Byron Bay and many other interesting places.
As Inge´s son Roland owns an amazing alpacas farm, sometimes we helped as well there. We could feed the alpacas babies, picked some mandarines and oranges, helped with cutting the trees and did some weeding..
They were always very nice to us, helped us with everything and we really enjoyed every day there.

It was an absolute pleasure to host Bekki. We have made news friends and expanded our farmily. Not only were Mum's windows were cleaned and car detailed but we enjoyed good times and great company doing lots of things together. Mum, Roland and I (Coral) were sad to say goodbye.

'It's so wonderful finding a piece of home when having been backpacking for the last few weeks' - our first words when arriving in Alstonville after having been picked up from Ballina.
It was not only a week full of sightseeing, meeting nice people and spending a lot of time together but also finding a small Australian family, making new friends

In exchange for cleaning cars and windows, doing gardening, some cooking etc. we did receive unbelievable good food, a cozy home with lots of space for ourselves, a comfortable bed and beautiful surrounding and lots of sightseeing-tours in and around Alstonville.
We really enjoyed staying in this little town, it's good to have a break from busy backpacking, but also not far away from Lennox or Byron for those looking for a busier spot to go to :)
If you are looking for a workaway place where you can feel like home definitely go and visit Alstonville. We would have loved to stay longer if we had had more time but we will for sure come back next time we visit Australia.
