Beschreibung
Hello, my name is Jabbi, a single parent with 4 children. I live in Mbale in the eastern part of Uganda. I’m the team leader at Lububi, a creative hub where young people come to learn, grow, and bring their ideas to life. We provide training and practical experience in music, film, crafts, and other creative skills, giving the next generation the tools and confidence to create and innovate. We love connecting with people from around the world who can share their knowledge, skills, and cultural experiences with our youth.

Travellers can immerse themselves in Mbale and Bugisu culture, learning Lugisu expressions, traditional dances, local crafts, and foods like malewa. You may also witness cultural traditions such as Imbalu, the initiation ceremony central to Bugisu identity. Alongside this, you’ll see how our youth blend tradition with creativity in music, film, and arts, while sharing your own skills and culture in return.
Arbeit
We work with young people who are full of potential but often face limited opportunities. Through music, film, crafts, and other creative skills, we give them a platform to discover their talents, build confidence, and see new possibilities for their future. We also collaborate with local performing arts groups and community sports teams, creating a vibrant space for growth, teamwork, and cultural exchange.
We welcome volunteers who can inspire and motivate our youth, whether through sharing skills in scriptwriting, drama, dance (hip hop, breakdance, salsa, ballet, or traditional styles), music and film production, or even coaching in football. Your presence and guidance can help them turn creativity into a path toward a happier, healthier, and more purposeful life.
Our goal is simple. To open doors for young people in our community and help them dream bigger than their circumstances.Sprachen
