Vom Workawayer (Karen) für Host
My five week stay with Elmar was his first as a Workaway host. I highly recommend Elmar as a host.
Elmar always responded to communication in a timely manner. Prior to my arrival we spoke several times on the phone ensuring it was going to be a good fit for both of us. From the moment I arrived and throughout my stay I felt at ease and
… read more comfortable staying with Elmar and enjoyed spending time with him.
We always worked together which was fun with Elmar’s humorous and playful nature and love of a good conversation. Elmar was always open to suggestions on when, how and what work was to be done.
The accommodation was spacious and I enjoyed the ground floor bedroom with my own bathroom and living area. Elmar was always respectful of my privacy. The house is one kilometre from the centre of Brig but quietly surrounded by meadows. It was a pleasure to wake up each morning to see the mountains and share a large breakfast prepared by Elmar.
Elmar is a generous and thoughtful host. He took into consideration the activities I like doing and planned trips around that. We enjoyed trips together as he showed me the local area and beyond. Activities included hiking, cycling, scenic drives, two trips to Italy, lunches out and visiting markets, lakes and castles. Elmar’s ability with languages was very helpful as we switched from areas that were either French, Italian or Swiss German.
My five weeks went too swiftly but I left with many cherished memories of my time with Elmar. I feel blessed to have had this experience and look forward to returning in the near future.Vom Host für Workawayer (Karen)
I fear my English is too poor to describe Karen`s many personal qualities: Karen has a general positive attitude towards things, she is smiling, and has a great sense of humour. She is easygoing and respectful and shows interest in the way people in another country live. We really were on the same wavelength sharing the love for nature, sports,
… read more cooking, travel, languages etc. I miss her smile, her cooking skills, her caring nature and much more. Furthermore it was a pleasure to share many beautiful moments with her when we visited places near my region.
In terms of work she is reliable, not fussy at all, flexible and highly motivated, even when it comes to the normally not much appreciated «art» of weeding.
I was fortunate to have her for some weeks at my home and I `m grateful for the wonderful time we could spend together. Thank you Karen, I `m looking forward to seeing you again.Feedback
