Beschreibung
We are located in Paradise Valley, Montana, 17 miles from Livingston and 35 from Yellowstone Park. Nestled in a spacious mountain meadow, our place is seldom windy and is jaw-droppingly beautiful. Founded as a Methodist retreat a century ago, we operate as a "people's park" hosting various groups, from 4H clubs to Scouts, church youth groups to Qigong.
Our staff are upbeat, energetic, and in love with this space.
We are looking for helpers that like variety in their days and are willing to help with kitchen, guest services and groundskeeping activities. We feed anywhere from 30 to 200 people per day and care for a 9-acre meadow and 27 buildings.Arten von Hilfe und Lernmöglichkeiten

We spend a lot of time sitting around the campfire and hosting enthusiastic and playful, banter-filled chats on the front porch.
This is not called Paradise Valley by accident. It is stunning. Hiking and wildlife opportunities are all around, and there are historical mines and sites in the area. Most of our guests spend considerable amounts of time on the Yellowstone River (just down the hill from us) and in Yellowstone National Park. Bozeman is about 30 miles away, and the best way to get there is a backroad that winds through mountains and working ranches.Arbeit
Kitchen help preparing and serving meals is needed. We have a large dining hall, and will be serving groups of 30 or more at a time this summer. Plenty of helpers are needed to keep the flow going.
Help with grounds-keeping and cabin cleaning is also needed. We spend a lot of time watering, and caring for the incredible meadow, grounds and cabins. Every few days, we turn over the cabins with a sweep and a bed sanitization, so the next group arrives to a tidy space.
Most of our buildings are 60+ years old, except for the staff bathhouse, which is brand new, so upkeep is paramount to our success.Sprachen

We have one room staff cabins available for our Workaway guests, which are adjacent to our new staff bathhouse. Meals are served in the main lodge. Workaway guests are also welcome to pitch a tent on the grounds.

There are Forest Service wilderness hiking trailheads just steps away, and two fun music venues within minutes of camp. Stipends are provided to offset travel cost. The road is paved right to our front gate, but that piece of civilization does not diminish the peace and quiet of this unique space.

We have Wi-Fi near the staff quarters and in the lodge. Cell service is spotty in camp, but we will show you the hot spots, and there is perfect service one mile down the hill.
Platz zum Abstellen von Camper Vans
We have electrical hook-ups and water in the area. RVs would need to go to town for a dump station.
Hier sind Haustiere in der Regel willkommen
Well-behaved dogs are welcome on site, kept on leashes at all times. Bears, deer and other wildlife are prone to visit camp, so good behavior is a must.

She came to us a little shy but full of energy and ready to learn! Our small staff is always working outside our "assigned" areas, and Andrea fit in perfectly. She helped in the kitchen, with housekeeping, lawn maintenance, and anywhere else she was needed. She was excited about all the little things involved with a new experience… read more

The camp literally borders a National Forest, and is part of the Yellowstone ecosystem, so you are staying in a jaw-droppingly beautiful location. There are all kinds of hiking and river-related activities nearby, and on our days off (some days were half days, some were full days, and… read more
My friend, Hallie, and I stayed for a month back in the summer of 2022. The time we spent at here will forever be some of our most cherished memories. Located in a quiet valley near Livingston, Montana, the camp has close access to beautiful hiking trails and is not too far from State Parks such as Yellowstone… read more
