Hi! I'm outgoing, hard-working, inquisitive and an adventurous person. I am motivated to workaway in South America primarily to meet new people, learn new skills, and to practice my intermediate Spanish. I like to travel slowly and occasionally write about my adventures, mishaps, and findings (follow my substack:)) As a carpenter, I have a decade of experience with manual work. I was raised on a farm in outback Australia, so that's more like three decades of work experience, but I skipped my shifts a lot as a child. I studied history, literature and philosophy at university. I'm interested in the culture, language and history of the countries I visit. I feel I have been to too many countries too quickly, and at the same time have seen too few. It is a happy contradiction. That I am so fortunate has been one of the abiding lessons of my experiences, and I hope to give my time to others in return for a view of their world. I'm also publishing a book soon, and have just begun writing another. Optimally, while staying, I will be able to write for a few hours a day.

Hi! I’m Rohit I’m a researcher in genomics and biophysics, currently taking a break before starting my next job. I’m based in New York and have been traveling since April — visiting over 20 countries, doing a couple of Workaways, and even became a pilot doing paragliding along the way. I really enjoy working with my hands and solving problems — whether that’s cooking, gardening, carpentry, fixing things, or tutoring kids (science, maths, English or German). I’m good with tech and happy to help set up devices, build websites, or troubleshoot when something’s not working right. I’m easygoing, quick to learn, and always up for lending a hand wherever needed. I’ll be available for Workaways in Jan-March of 2026 and would love to join a project where I can help out, learn something new (for now: Spanish), and share good company.
