Hejj! I'm Karlotta from Norway, and I'm currently planning to go backpacking through Asia during my gap year. This journey is something I've been dreaming about for a long time. For me it’s not just about seeing new places, but about stepping out of my comfort zone, connecting with new people, and learning about daily life, traditions, languages, and cultures along the way. I’m especially drawn to nature, food culture, traditional crafts, and sustainable ways of living. I'm a naturally curious and enthusiastic person, full of energy when it comes to discovering new places and experiencing different ways of life. I get really excited about the small things — whether it’s trying new food, stumbling upon a hidden gem, or hearing someone’s story over a cup of coffee. I’ve always been someone who brings good vibes into new spaces, and I really enjoy meeting people and learning from them. Friends and people I’ve worked with often describe me as kind, trustworthy, and I take pride in being organized and reliable. My hobbies include things like cooking, hiking, photography, and getting lost in nature. I find a lot of joy in working with my hands and learning through doing — whether that’s in the kitchen, the garden, or helping with creative or practical tasks. I’m always eager to pick up new skills and happy to help wherever I can. What draws me to Workaway is the opportunity to go beyond just being a visitor. I want to connect with people, be part of real life in the places I travel to, and offer something meaningful and of value in return. I’m a person who finds real happiness in nature, meaningful experiences, and staying active. I love exploring new places, connecting with people from different cultures, and learning something new every day. Sports, outdoor activities, and music are a big part of my life they help me stay balanced, positive, and motivated. I enjoy being hands-on and helpful. Over the years I’ve worked in different fields such as gastronomy (pastry & bakery), fitness, nutrition, and recently fiber-optic work, so I’m comfortable adapting and learning quickly. I’m also very social, respectful, and calm, and I appreciate environments where people communicate openly and support each other. What truly motivates me is discovering new perspectives, contributing to a team, and growing through real-life experiences. Workaway is the perfect way for me to combine travel, learning, and giving back. I’m excited to help hosts with whatever they need and to share good moments with other Workawayers along the way.

In January, I plan to volunteer in a local project and in February, I would like to travel around Ghana with my backpack. I enjoy hiking, being in the nature, sightseeing, & experiencing new cultures.
