Hello! My name is Martina, nice to meet you! I’m a 24 year old Italian girl recently graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Urbino (Italy), where I studied Illustration and Printmaking. I’m passionate about art, manga, food, handmade crafts and of course, Japan! Before continuing my studies in editorial design, I’d love to spend 2–3 months in Japan to experience daily life, connect with locals, and start learning the language I’ve always been fascinated by. My passion for anime, manga, and japanese culture has shaped my creativity, and visiting Japan has been a dream for years! I’m a cheerful, open-minded, and independent person. I’m very curious and always eager to learn new things. Art and creativity are a big part of my life: I love drawing, magazine, fashion, photography, DIY crafts, and all things handmade. I’d be happy to share this creative side with kids too through little activities or even just chatting about ideas. I’d be happy to help with house chores, childcare or anything that makes daily life smoother and more fun! I really enjoy cooking (especially Italian and asian dishes!) and I’d be excited to share some recipes or help prepare meals together. I’d love to do language exchange—I can teach a bit of Italian or English in exchange for some Japanese! I’ve worked as a waitress and barista for several years, so I’m used to interacting with all kinds of people (including international customers!). I’ve also volunteered with children during summer camps in my hometown and babysat my younger cousin since she was a baby, so I feel confident caring for and entertaining kids. A close friend of mine taught to me about Workaway, and hearing about her amazing experience made me want to do the same. Now that I’ve graduated, I can finally make this dream come true, and I can’t wait to begin this journey combining my passions while discovering Japan through real, everyday life! 🌸 Important note:
As an Italian citizen, I can only enter Japan with a tourist visa, which allows a stay of up to 90 days. Unfortunately, there is currently no Working Holiday visa between Italy and Japan; because of this, I am available for short-term stays (within 3 months I must return to my country). I truly wish I could stay longer, and I hope to return in the future for an even deeper experience!

I am currently in Brisbane, Australia, with no set plans. I would love to meet new people and to try any active hobbies, or just grab a drink and chill would be fun as well!

Hi! I’m a curious and open-minded person who loves travelling, discovering new cultures and learning languages. I’m currently doing a Master’s degree in Neuroscience and preparing my applications for a PhD. During this transition period, I’d love to take some time to slow down, explore new places, meet people from different backgrounds and experience everyday life in a more local and meaningful way. I’ve always been particularly drawn to the Nordic countries. I’ve already travelled to Iceland and Norway, and I’d love to discover more of Scandinavia and experience the culture, nature and lifestyle beyond just being a tourist. In my free time, I enjoy photography, hiking, swimming and exploring new places. I also absolutely love animals, especially horses! 🐴 I speak five languages, which I really enjoy because languages are one of my favourite ways to connect with people and understand different cultures. I’m responsible, easy-going and happy to help wherever I can. I’m not looking for a traditional holiday — I’d love to contribute, learn something new, share experiences with others and hopefully become part of a local community for a while. I’m excited to meet new people, learn new skills and create some good memories along the way!
