    Description

We are fun loving Canadian beekeepers who love to learn and share about life and joy and adventure. We keep a large garden and strive to live a sustainable environmentally respectful existence while sharing our love of nature and people with all those we can. We engage in community and have a passion for the deeper things in life.

Currently, we are building an apiary and have been growing our number of hives each year. We practice holistic beekeeping and put bee health over honey production, recognizing that we are stewards of the bees, not their owners.

We are mid renovation on our cute bungalow home set in a gorgeous valley with a great community of 100 people. Our town is based on the local theatre and theatre school, so there is a plethora of art to see, and people to connect with.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Willing to teach bee friendly beekeeping, different gardening techniques, and home renovation basics to the willing worker. As travelers, we know the value of being in a local home to learn the ins and outs of daily life in a new place. We have incredible geography, a local theatre in an art town in rural Alberta, that draws tourists from all over the world.

You will have access to fridge space and will be able to cook upstairs in our kitchen with produce from the garden when its in season. We will provide either cooked food or ingredients for three meals a day.

Wifi is included but since we are rural we ask streaming and downloading to be kept to a minimum.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We like to live our lives connected to nature and the seasons, we grow as much food as possible and hunt for the majority of the protein that we eat. We keep bee's in a way that focuses on bee health first and honey collection as a secondary benefit. We are in the midst of renovating our home so there will be time spent painting and building as well.

During Time off workers will be able to walk the valley, take day trips to Drumheller and visit the Royal Tyrell Museum and Canadian Badlands. The Rocky Mountains are a 2 hr drive for those that have their own vehicle. For individuals without their own transportation there is a bus that runs to Drumheller and for workers that are intending to stay for a while we could pick them up from there, or potentially from Calgary.
