    Description

Our Farm is situated in the beautiful Interlake region of Manitoba - the area between Lake Winnipeg to the East, and Lake Manitoba to the West, where Pastures are interspersed with forested areas, and marshy Meadows. Winnipeg is only a

hour south of us, so while we enjoy the less hectic and beautiful aspects of country living, we have the city close enough for all we need.
We run a herd of mother cows & calves, have a small logging operation, and we also run a campground right on the shores of Lake Manitoba, where you'll love the stunning sunsets, that are legendary for this part of the country.
You are welcome to stay with us on the farm, or at the campground, where you can go swimming, and enjoy those awesome sunsets.
Depending on when you are here, some of the tasks you'll probably be involved in would include checking, watering, and moving cattle, haying, campground care (like mowing etc.), and maintenance projects around the yard.

We realize, that most people don't come to Canada, to explore Manitoba - which is a shame, because most people that stay long enough end up leaving in love with it. However many take the opportunity on their way from East to West or vice versa, to experience some prairie life.

    Help

We appreciate any help, but in the summer months it would be especially helpful, if you know how to drive a tractor and have basic mechanic knowledge. Of course we will teach you the basics, and we're always here to assist.
Besides haying, checking & repairing fences are regular tasks, and there are always some building project to realize.

    Accommodation

Like mentioned above, you have the choice to either live with us in your private room in our house, or on the campground.
Meals are shared and you can help with cooking. As to the diet, we are quite flexible. I am vegan and my husband eats regular dishes. I make our own bread and all meals are homemade.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

You will have the opportunity to discover the rural Canadian live style and Manitoba country side.
as mentioned above, the farm is located in the Interlake in Manitoba. We are a bit over an hour North of Winnipeg, close to the highway, and the village of Narcisse, with it's famous snake dens. You can enjoy water sports on Lake Manitoba and Lake Winnipeg, and visit Gimli (35 mins east of here), which is an Icelandic settlement - a cute town, rich in Icelandic culture, shops, bars and bustling beach life in the summer.
While it's ideal, if you have your own vehicle, we can assist with transportation, and we will pick you up in Winnipeg.
