  Hello everyone, I'm Manuela and I'm fortunate to have been born in a place blessed by God: a true paradise on earth! It's a small plot of land cultivated as a vegetable garden overlooking the splendid sea of Maratea, along the Tyrrhenian coast of Basilicata. Nestled between the woods and the cliffs, it's surrounded by nature and silence.
  
  In the past, both my grandfather and my father dedicated themselves passionately to caring for this space. However, now my brother and I, being occupied with other work activities, need someone to help us tend the garden and clean and organize the surrounding area.
  
  Our goal is to continue the work of years and keep this magical place alive and active. In the future, we hope to host travelers who enjoy direct contact with nature, offering activities such as yoga and meditation.

  Workawayers can expect to be embraced as equals within our community. We place a strong emphasis on cultivating genuine friendships and encouraging a spirit of sharing and collaboration. Additionally, we offer our Southern Italian family traditions, providing a warm and authentic cultural experience. The experience I would like to share with the volunteers is the opportunity to enrich my culture through interactions with others and the exchange of life stories and experiences. Since I often don’t have the chance to take long trips, this could be a great way to "travel" through people without having to move.

  Help

  We are looking for Workawayers to assist my father in taking care of the garden, including harvesting the vegetables, removing weeds, and loosening the soil. It would be ideal if you have some basic knowledge of Italian, as my father does not speak English. Additionally, we would appreciate help with maintenance, cleaning, and caring for the outdoor spaces.

  Accommodation

  We offer accommodation consisting of a double bedroom with an external bathroom and outdoor space overlooking the sea cliffs, equipped with a table and chairs where you can enjoy your meals. As for food, we provide our garden produce for you to cook, or we can occasionally prepare genuine meals from the Lucanian tradition for you.

  What else ...

  During your free time, you can take a refreshing swim or sunbathe on the cliffside by following a short staircase that leads directly to the sea, where you can enjoy the spectacular panorama of the Gulf of Policastro. You can also stroll along the path that runs alongside beautiful seabeds all the way to the equipped beach of Marina di Maratea where you'll also find a bar and a pizzeria.
  My house is located 5 km from the center of Maratea. If you want to reach the town or nearby areas and don’t have a car, you can take the train, with the station just 700 meters away. Alternatively, there are two buses per day that connect the area to the Port and the historic center.
  Workawayers will only be helping in our private home and garden.
