  Hello future guest/friend:)
  
  :) We are a married couple from Belgium and India crafting a life for ourselves in Bulgaria since 6 years now. We are not new to hosting people via another website(Couchsurfing) for over 10 years now and meeting helpful people through Workaway has helped us create countless memories, forge genuine connections while also getting some help in and around the house.
  
  3 years ago, we were adopted by a bullied street dog- Barfi who now lives his best free life in our yard and a few weeks ago we our family was blessed with our sweet baby girl, Laila :) That's our family of 4.
  
  We have been blissed out in our expanded family bubble while being on my maternity leave until the year end.
  
  We are seeking some added hands on help for housekeeping and baby sitting to support my transition back into remote work from Jan 2026.
  
  Dates : From 16th Nov or later onwards, for a minimum of 2 weeks, maximum no limit. Exact dates are flexible and can be discussed.
  
  Location: We are right in the middle of the country. If you like nature, walking, biking, birdwatching, etc... this is the perfect place. The city of Veliko Tarnovo- the Medieval capital of Bulgaria is beautiful and the house is in the heart of the old town.

  Pets : Barfi
  Age: 4 years old.
  Breed and temperament: Friendly, playful, used to be a streetdog as a pup until he adopted us.
  Any special needs: None.He lives freely in the yard/garden, not inside the house.
  
  House Features & Amenities for you:
  Private bedroom with fast WiFi and bathroom. Shared lounge area. This is in the ground floor of the house and private from the upstairs where we live.
  The floor above is where our and our daughters bedroom is and also has a shared full kitchen with an oven and 4 stove induction cooktop plus another wet room and a spacious balcony overlooking our garden, also shared.
  
  Local Community and grocery stores: Safe neighbourhood, neighbours keep to themselves but are friendly, less than 1 minute walk to the grocery store, 10 minute walk to the town centre, 6 minute walk to the closest bus stop that goes to Veliko Tarnovo, Gorna Oryahovitsa or cross country travel.

  We offer a Peaceful and cosy home environment where you can relax and have some downtime for a few weeks or more while also having the opportunity to discover the medieval town of Veliko Tarnovo which is 15 minutes away by bus and is like a fairytale during winters.
  
  We respect your privacy as much as our own and understand if you want personal space and time outside of the babysitting and cooking. We all need to decompress away from the bustle of family life so there is no pressure to join us outside of the help itself.
  
  If you did want to join us, we would be happy to share our culture with you, introduce you to local food and experiences, recommend/suggest local places to visit for your free time, advise on transport and even show you around the area when time permits. We have a thriving expats circle we could connect you to and take you out to as well to kick start a social connection outside of home as well.
  
  We prioritise clear and two way communication to ensure expectations are clear without ambiguity and comfort is prioritised. We have a mindset of gratitude and respect and while we hope the work itself is fulfilling, the true joy is in the connections we make with you :)

  Arbeit

  - Babysitting for a preset schedule time (could vary a little week each week) for weekdays. No more than 5 or 6 hours
  
  - Cooking lunch for the day using our supplies (before the start of the babysitting session or prepared 1 day before) to avoid overlaps when the baby needs you around.
  
  - Some basic housekeeping (light cleaning of the home)
  
  As babies do, she will likely be sleeping a few or all of those hour. It would be great to fit in the housekeeping during this time or seperatelt.
  
  When she is awake, feeding her with bottled milk and changing nappies would be included. In between hugs are a bonus ;)
  
  One of us will always be home so will be checking in to help at all times as well.
  
  - Cooking 1 meal during the day or the evening using our supplies.
  
  Your stay: Your own Private floor with bedroom, living room and bathroom + shared kitchen, outdoor balcony + garden area
  
  We do not expect one person to be able to help in all, but depending upon capabilities, tackle what is possible- and if you tell us what you can help with we can make an informed decision in terms of if and how long we can have this exchange of help.
  
  This is a paid position per the country's minimum wage requirements.

  We are right in the middle of the country. If you like nature, walking, biking, birdwatching, etc... this is the perfect place. The city of Veliko Tarnovo- the Medieval capital of Bulgaria is beautiful and the house is in the heart of the old town.
  
  The most important thing:
  We ask all our guests not to smoke inside the house (only outside in the garden).
  
  We would like to highlight a few things in advance to ensure both you and us have a comfortable experience when sharing our home and life for the time you invest with us:
  - As a cross-cultural couple- you will receive hospitality which will be a mashup of cultures and food diversity.
  - We have a stocked fridge and we make meals, some simple, some elaborate when we can. Guests are welcome to join us, or make thier own food using the supplies in our kitchen. We prefer guests to be independent enough to handle breakfast on their own.
  - We are digital nomads ourselves and live and work online, Hi-Speed Wifi is at your disposal, helpful if you work remotely too.
  - We like clear communication and strive to be as clear as possible when confirming duration (decided after we discuss what you are looking for and what our circumstances at the time allows us). We will always be able to confirm for upto 2 weeks to start with. This duration can certainly be extended if both the below two scenarios play out:
  A. you and us see being able to cohabit together for beyond upto 2 weeks, and
  B. if our circumstances permit (based on time of the year, our own work schedules, and most importantly how much of an independent guest you are)
  
  If the above two are applicable, then we will offer you the option to extend your stay beyond upto 2 weeks. The point is to give you the flexibility while also extending the same to us :)
  - Babysitting can sometimes maybe boring since they sleep a lot.
  - We cultivate friendly relations with volunteers -the idea is to meet other travelers for a sustained amount of time each and create something lasting together with an exchange of culture and ideas.

  You can explore the whole country from here alone via the Bulgarian Railway. Closest Railway station is Gorna Oryahovitsa, a 6 minute car ride from our home or a 15 min bus ride.
  
  The whole country is well connected to Veliko Tarnovo by bus as well. Lyaskovets and Veliko Tarnovo has buses to and fro every 20 minutes from 7 am -8 pm. There are lots of Waterfalls, hikes, nearby. Veliko Tarnovo is 14 kms away.

  As digital nomads ourselves- we understand the importance and requirements that come with the territory. We have fast internet for this and can set you up with a work corner in the house as well. I have quit smoking, while Arne vapes but always outside the house.

  Parking of cars and Campervans is easily possible outside the house- we live in a quite part of the town.- 100 meters away from our front gate- since we live down a lane.

  This is possible but with prior discussion to ensure all pets are comfortable. :) We can accept pets only with pior meeting with our doggy and if he gets along well with them. He was bullied as a stray dog and only allows his friends to enter his territory (he lives in our Yard).
